The Xbox apps for Android and iOS will now let you take part in party chat while on the go. The feature has been in testing with the beta Xbox apps on both platforms since December, but it's now rolling out to everyone on the release versions.

Getting set up with party chat is fairly simple on both platforms. In the Xbox app, you can navigate to the "Parties" section by tapping the icon that looks like three people at the top of the screen. From there, tap "Start a party" and start inviting friends. Once in a party, you can take part in voice and text chat. A number of controls are also available, allowing you to mute others, check out other players' profiles, and manage party settings.

Previously, party chat was limited to the Xbox app on Windows 10 and the console itself, so it's nice to see it hit mobile platforms as well. If you want to keep up with your Xbox friends on the go, you can check out party chat by picking up the latest versions of the Xbox app at Google Play and the App Store now.
