Plex goes universal for Windows and Windows Phone 8.1

Plex, the popular media streaming app, has been updated to become a universal app for Windows and Windows Phone 8.1. It should be noted that the Plex 2.1.1 on Windows Phone is still considered a beta by the developer, so everything might not work as you'd expect just yet.

Here's the breakdown of everything you can expect in Plex 2.1.1:

  • Plex is now a single universal app for Windows and Windows 8.1 and above
  • PLEASE NOTE: Plex for Windows Phone is in beta
  • (WP) Server selector
  • (WP) Live tile
  • (WP) Channel store
  • (WP) Show theme music
  • (WP) Media rate/recommended/delete actions
  • (WP) Much closer alignment with Windows application

You can grab the universal version of Plex from the Windows Store now. As a reminder, the app went free earlier this year, and an in-app purchase is now required to unlock premium features.
