To get your hands on the devastating M1851 Wolfsbane, you'll first need to make your way through roughly half of the game and overcome the encounter with Moreau. In the section leading up to this boss fight you'll find a crank attached to a windmill. Don't worry about missing this particular item since it's necessary to progress the story. Once you've collected this item and defeated Moreau, make your way out of the reservoir and back to the first windmill with the typewriter.

From the windmill with the typewriter, you'll see a gate directly across from the exit that requires a crank to open. Use the crank you obtained from the reservoir area to access this optional path. If you look on your map, you'll see a shiny treasure chest labeled Moreau's Hidden Weapon. Continue along this path and make your way towards the treasure icon on your map. You'll need to fight your way through a small collection of ghouls and flying bloodsuckers and find a cabin perch upon a small hill.

The front door of this structure will be locked from the other side, so take a detour around the back of the house and crawl through a hole in the rear wall for entry. Prominently displayed on a table in this building will be a briefcase with the M1851 Wolfsbane inside. Grab your shiny new firearm, unlock the front door, and prepare for an encounter with a rather nasty Lycan. Not to fear, though! Your magnum should take this beast out in two quick shots.

For players with a hefty amount of Lei saved up, the Increased Capacity Cylinder for the M1851 Wolfsbane can purchased from Duke the shopkeeper. This upgrade for the magnum will become available in the shop once you've reached the main elevator in The Factory area of the game. It can then be purchased for 100,000 Lei.

Obtaining the Long Barrel upgrade for the M1851 Wolfsbane is certainly cheaper than the Increased Capacity Cylinder, but slightly trickier to hunt down. When you first reach the factory, you'll start on level B4. Your main mission will be looking to restore power to the level in order to reactive a lift in order to make your way to the upper levels.

Once you've found the proper mold, created the COG, and powered back on the generator, backtrack slightly from the Foundry and make your way to the Operating Room. In the furthest corner of this room, you'll find the M1851 Wolfsbane Long Barrel in a briefcase. Just be prepared for an encounter with one of Heisenberg's metal monsters.
