Star Wars Battlefront's first expansion ramps up the battle in the Outer Rim

EA and DICE have detailed Outer Rim, the first expansion for Star Wars Battlefront. The original game launched for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in November 2015, and this expansion will add new battlefields to Sullust and Tatooine, along with a new game mode, additional heroes, and new weapons.

Outer Rim will add the new platform-rich weapons factory map to the lava-soaked Sullust. Players will also find themselves dodging blaster bolts in Jabba's Palace on Tatooine, where they will be able to face off in both Jabba's throne room and the palace's sail barge garage. You'll also have the option to play as two new heroes: the bounty hunter Greedo and Rebel Alliance fighter Nien Nunb.

This expansion also adds the new Extraction game mode. As the Rebels, Extraction tasks you with stealing valuable resources, while the Empire is supposed to stop them. Rebels will have a limited time to get the supplies to their transport.

Finally, Outer Rim adds new weapons and action cards. Players can now pick up the Relby V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster pistol, and equip the Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and Adrenaline Stim Star Cards.

Star Wars Battlefront Outer Rim will be available later in March, and will be part of the Battlefront Season Pass.
