What you need to know

  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order just got its first gameplay footage.
  • The title looks like it features combat similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
  • There are bosses and mini-bosses in the game, as well as platforming and puzzles.
  • You can preorder Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for $50 on Amazon.

Recently, Respawn Entertainment — the developer behind Apex Legends and Titanfall — revealed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's first gameplay footage. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a story-driven third-person action game that Respawn has been working on for many years now. There is no multiplayer mode or microtransactions in the game. Luckily, it's launching on November 15, so the wait isn't too long.

The combat is similar to games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but doesn't look as punishing. You have a variety of abilities at your disposal so you can quickly dispatch lesser foes. For example, you can trigger air assassinations and much more. However, your progress will come to a halt when you encounter bosses like giant spiders. While it looks like it's quite easy to dispatch a "Purge Trooper," going up against a "Walker" will be much more difficult. The Purge Trooper is more like a mini-boss and the Walker is a regular boss.

While a lot of the gameplay footage has been seen before, this extended look gives us a taste of what to expect when for other aspects of the game. There are a variety of planets to explore, and you have to go back to certain levels to access new areas once you gain new abilities.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is currently available for roughly $50 on Amazon. The game is Xbox One X Enhanced and runs at 4K resolution on the system. It also appears to render at 60 frames per second, but that has yet to be confirmed for the final build.
