With no new Xbox release for Windows Phone this week, gamers in search of a fix will have to look to the Xbox Red Stripe Deal for their entertainment. The latest deal game is Gameloft’s Dark Knight Rises for Windows Phone 8. It’s on sale for $2.99, as it also was back in June. If you’re looking for a long and meaty game, it should fit the bill.

Non-Xbox Red Stripe Deals include the phenomenal strategy game Armed from Sickhead Games for 99 cents, plus the popular app Weave News Reader for $3.99. We’ve got details and Store links after the break.

The Xbox Red Stripe Deal of the Week doesn’t update until Thursday, but that doesn’t mean you won’t find a new Xbox Windows Phone deal today. The good folks at Gameloft are running a little sale of their own, with almost every single one of their titles marked down in price. The best deals of the bunch have to be The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises for three bucks apiece - those games only came out in March!

Full list with descriptions and store links after the break.

Was Gameloft’s The Amazing Spider-Man game too bright and cheery for you? Get ready to stalk villains from the shadows and do lots of brooding then, because there’s a Batman in town. The Dark Knight Rises for Xbox Windows Phone 8 is here! Not surprisingly, it requires phones with 1 GB of RAM, so lower memory devices like the Lumia 620 will have to remain crime-ridden for the time being.

Xbox games for Windows Phone 8 were slim pickings until Gameloft’s highly anticipated Asphalt 7 rolled out a few weeks ago. That rad racer became the first of the publisher’s 12 announced games to actually see release, followed shortly thereafter by The Amazing Spider-Man and Real Soccer 2013. That still leaves 9 more games to go, including the hotly anticipated FPS titles N.O.V.A. 3 and Modern Combat 4.

We won’t be shooting enemies this week, at least not with bullets. Batarangs, however are a different story. This Wednesday, Gameloft will release The Dark Knight Rises and Shark Dash for Windows Phone 8.

You can tell that the new Batman movie the Dark Knight Rises is getting close for release as their partner in crime Nokia is ramping up promotions. They've already released The Dark Knight Rises app for Lumia phones, Lumia 710 covers and a Lumia 900 etched with the Batman logo, but it looks like the Finns still have more.

In a new video posted to their channel, Nokia teases a 3D immersive map of Batman’s home city with the tag line “Explore Gotham City like never before”.

Not much else is revealed about the tool, what platforms it will be on, if it’s for mobile or web…we just don’t know yet. A good guess though would be that this uses Nokia Maps and is perhaps web-based, so this may not be specific for the Lumia line of devices.

Alternatively, if we look at the Batman Origins comic app released today, we noted how there is a yet-to-be-released “The Dark Knight Rises: Prologue" app—perhaps this has something to do with that?

Either way, Nokia seems to have picked a winner in terms of marketing this summer as the final Batman movie looks to be a blockbuster.

We would like to congratulate Windows Phone Central readers csakre, classykeyser, and xdabob for winning the Nokia Lumia 710 Dark Knight covers. They were chosen at random from this post asking who your favorite Batman actor is.  It appears from the responses that Christian Bale and Michael Keaton are the fan favorites.  We even had one vote for the Lego Batman.

We are in the process of contacting the winners and getting their shipping information.  We will get the covers out later this week.  And if you didn't get chosen, don't give up hope. We've got a few more cases to give away in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

There's already a strong Nokia Lumia connection with the upcoming Dark Knight Rises movie with the limited edition Lumia 900 (and Lumia 800) Windows Phone. It now appears that the Lumia 710 is getting into the action.

These Xpress-on covers surfaced at a local T-Mobile Store and are being handed out with new purchases (while supplies last). The Dark Knight Rises logo resembles one of the tattoo images we ran across a few months ago.

Not sure if this is a regional promotion, a store exclusive, or a case where someone had a surplus of covers and got creative. If you've seen the Dark Knight Rises Xpress-on Covers in your area, feel free to sound off in the comments. Should we learn more on these Batman Lumia 710 covers, we'll pass it on.

Thanks, Brandon, for the tip and pics!

Details are sketchy at this point but it looks like there is or will be or might be a limited edition Nokia Lumia 800 -- The Dark Knight Edition. We find it odd, only because that movie won't be out till July, 2012. Either way, there's only 40 of these babies, which means we probably won't be getting one. Doh!

Still, the all-black with Batman logo, subtly placed on the back is pretty amazing looking, as is the box. It even has special themed lock-screen wallpaper with Bane on board and Batman Start tiles. Very awesome and we're jealous.
