Lenovo announces new budget machine – The Flex 10

A few months ago, Lenovo announced their new Flex series of touch screen machines, the Flex 14 and Flex 15. While the line does offer up to the latest generation Intel Core i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD, the Flex machines were not designed to be the hottest machines on the block – they were designed to fit a budget and came in at a starting price of $429. Now, Lenovo is back with another Flex model unit, the Flex 10.

The introduction of Windows 8 had brought a plethora of devices that flip, detach, and swivel. Lenovo feels they have captured the ultimate form factor with their patented 360 degree flip hinge and YOGA line of machines, and have this year introduced a collection of new devices at IFA 2013.

One of the coolest things here at Nokia World is what the Finnish company is working on for the future. One such item that has caught everyone's attention in a flexible screen that you interact with. In short, bending it one way causes you to scroll, flexing it another enters and app, another way will zoom in on a photo, etc.

It's at once odd and yet intuitive. Eventually that screen in the video will be touch-sensitive too, giving all sorts of new ways to interact with a device. It's also great for those in the cold who have to wear gloves, natch.
