Microsoft has taken an ex-employee to court after investigations by both internal and federal counterparts found software architect, Alex Kibkalo to be stealing and leaking trade secrets from Redmond. Arrested on Wednesday, it's alleged Kibkalo leaked Windows 7 program files, Windows 8 information and anti-software piracy systems.

We’re a few short weeks away from Microsoft rolling out Update 1 for Windows 8.1. The update comes to your tablet, laptop and desktop in order to make Windows 8.1 a little friendlier for users that heavily rely on mice and keyboards. April’s Patch Tuesday, April 8th, is the expected day for when regular folk will get the update. But you’re not regular and if you want it, you can get it today. Window 8.1 Update 1 has apparently been accidently leaked by Microsoft.

Windows Phone 8.1 SDK beta leak reveals even more

As the leaked Windows Phone 8.1 SDK continues to get torn apart by packs of anonymous devs, a few other features about the forthcoming OS have come forward. Today, support for Miracast, uploading of files through Internet Explorer 11 and Google calendar have been found in the documentation.

Miracast is a peer-to-peer wireless screencasting technology that allows beaming of your display to another display, more often than not a large screen TV. Now, references to Miracast have been found in the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK documentation, specifically in the section detailing the ability to let devs connect their devices via USB to a PC to show the display’s contents.


First screenshots of the Notification Center for Windows Phone 8.1 reveal new design

The first images of the new Notification Center, dubbed 'Action Center', for Windows Phone 8.1 have made their way on to the web. The screenshots appeared on the site Winphollowers and Windows Phone Central is able to confirm their authenticity at this time.

The screenshots appear to have come from a confidential email sent around Microsoft, detailing various aspects of the new OS. Only one page of the email, or slide deck, is shown and it’s the one that details the Action and Notification Center.


Yet another Windows 8.1 Update 1 build leaks on to the web – new surprises onboard

As the clock ticks forward, we move closer and closer to Windows 8.1’s first major collection of tweaks and fixes – Update 1. With all of the Windows 8.1 Update 1 screenshots that have been leaking onto the web over the past couple of weeks, it wasn’t long before we expected a copy of the actual operating system to show up for us to jump on. More Windows 8.1 Update 1 leaks appear - shows the ability to run Windows 8 apps on the legacy desktop

With the number of Windows 8 Update 1 screenshots flooding the web, it feels like the latest operating system update from Microsoft has already hit. Nokia Normandy's Android UI leaked in published renders

The Nokia Normandy (as it's currently known) is an interesting device from the company, which has been covered by us numerous times already. Unannounced Nokia Lumia 525 struts its stuff in latest render leak

The Nokia Lumia 525 has been making headlines lately and now the popular leakster Twitter profile @evleaks has once again joined in the fun by releasing the above render of the device. The image shows the handset in white, yellow and orange. While both pricing and availability are yet to be announced (as well as the Lumia 525 itself), these are positive signs if we're to look back at the run-up to previous hardware announcements.

The Nokia Lumia 525 is a rather mysterious Windows Phone, but more details on the Lumia 520 successor are beginning to emerge. Revealed – The Nokia Lumia 929, Verizon’s 5 inch 1080P Windows Phone

Although Nokia had a lot to announce a few weeks ago in Abu Dhabi, one of those devices not mentioned was the Nokia Lumia 929, destined for Verizon. That device is said to be in carrier testing right now and it could be released between Thanksgiving and the beginning of next year.

The Nokia Lumia 929 is a custom phone built for Verizon, featuring a 5-inch 1080P AMOLED display. It’s in many ways just a bigger, more powerful Lumia 928, as it features a Quad-Core Snapdragon 800 CPU and updated internals.

We recently looked at a leak of the Verizon Lumia 929 from Nokia, which didn't make the event in Abu Dhabi. A leaker on our forum uploaded a video and some photos for everyone to check out the upcoming Windows Phone that's expected to launch sometime before Q1 2014. Now that same leaker has published a sample shot captured by the Lumia 929.

Nokia World has come and gone but that doesn’t mean the Finnish company doesn’t have more devices up their sleeves. One of those is the Lumia 929, a custom phone for Verizon that is due to land any time between now and Q1. Not much is known about the Lumia 929 except that it is probably a 5-inch 1080P device running a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor and a 20 MP rear PureView camera.

Now, a leaker in the Windows Phone Central forums who goes by the name of ‘Falorin’ has posted a new photo and even a hands on vide with the mystery device.


Nokia Lumia 1520 has its protective covers leaked online

We're only hours away from Nokia's event in Abu Dhabi tomorrow when we expect the company to announce multiple devices. One of them is the Lumia 1520, which has now more of its protective covers leaked online. Twitter profile Evleaks (has been accurate in the past) has published the above image on the micro-blogging service, showing off some cases in black, red and white.
