Tokyo 42, an upcoming isometric shooter, is set to make its debut on Xbox One and PC on May 31, 2017. Alongside the reveal of its release date, the team at SMAC Games has brought together a sleek new trailer, which showcases the ID@Xbox game's premise in a mere 4.2 seconds.

After being framed for a murder, Tokyo 42 sets players free in an isometric world full of crime and assassination. With influences from Syndicate and the original GTA, the game blends a sleek Japanese cyberpunk aesthetic with twin-stick shooter gameplay.

Set in a future Tokyo, the game will see you become an assassin and uncover a dark conspiracy that will affect everyone.

With open-world single player and competitive multiplayer, you will buy and use a host of weapons and tools to approach the many challenges of this beautiful little world.

We previously got hands-on with Tokyo 42 at the Games Developer's Conference 2017, looking at how the game's Xbox One release was shaping up. At the time, we highlighted its appealing art style and soundtrack but looked forward to seeing what content the full game would offer.

For now, we'll have to wait for the full game's release on May 31 for Xbox One and Steam. A PlayStation 4 version is also in the works, which is set to arrive later this summer.
