The state of the app ecosystem for Windows Phone is taking another small blow today with the announcement that Toshl is dropping support for its personal finance app on the platform. The current app will remain in the Windows Store through May 15, at which point it will be pulled.

Alongside news that the current version of the app is biting the dust, Toshl also says it has ceased development on a planned version 2.0 revamp for Windows Phone. From Toshl:

Breaking our promise to finish the 2.0 version for Windows was the last thing we wanted to do, but circumstances unfortunately left us between Scylla and Charbydis. We have to consider the future of the entire Toshl company and apply ourselves to projects which will enable the company to prosper and evolve for a long time to come.

It's a bit of sad news for anyone who relies on Toshl to manage their personal finances, but the good news is that you can still access your account and data through the web app or apps on other platforms. And though the Toshl app will be pulled from the Windows Store on May 15, it will keep working for through September for anyone who has it installed, before completely shutting down. If you've already purchased a Toshl Pro subscription that goes beyond September, Toshl has instructions on its blog for seeking a refund.
