  • Ubisoft has announced the departure of multiple high-level executives.
  • These departures include Chief Creative Officer Serge Hascoët and Global Head of HR Cécile Cornet.
  • This comes after a wave of abuse allegations against executives at Ubisoft and other parts of the gaming industry.

Ubisoft has just announced the departure of several high-profile employees via a press release. Among these is Chief Creative Officer Serge Hascoët. Yves CEO and Co-Founder of Ubisoft, is stepping into the role of Chief Creative Officer.

Meanwhile, Yannis Mallat, Managing Director of Ubisoft's Canadian studios, is also leaving the company. This is due to the recent allegations against him making it "impossible for him to continue in this position." Finally, Global Head of HR Cécile Cornet is also stepping down. Ubisoft is actively looking for a replacement.

"Ubisoft has fallen short in its obligation to guarantee a safe and inclusive workplace environment for its employees. This is unacceptable, as toxic behaviors are in direct contrast to values on which I have never compromised — and never will. I am committed to implementing profound changes across the Company to improve and strengthen our workplace culture," said Guillemot.

Guillemot also said that "Moving forward, as we collectively embark on a path leading to a better Ubisoft, it is my expectation that leaders across the Company manage their teams with the utmost respect. I also expect them to work to drive the change we need, always thinking of what is best for Ubisoft and all its employees."

This comes shortly after a wave of abuse and sexual impropriety allegations went through the video game industry, including executives at Ubisoft who have been suspended. Ubisoft has stated it is working to build a more inclusive work culture.
