Windows 10 mobile

The latest build for Windows 10 Insider Preview for phone has just been released and we've quickly played with it on the Lumia 830. You can now also install this on the Lumia 930, Icon, 640, 640 XL, and HTC One M8. This is a preview, so you'll encounter frustrations and ugly interfaces. We don't recommend installing it on your primary device. Want to see it in action? Check out our hands-on video.

Windows Store beta is now available in this build of Windows 10 preview. This lets you install other previews like the universal Office apps, Xbox, Music, and Video. The Windows Store beta has a new visual design. You can browse and search, as well as download apps. You can also get movies and TV shows, with the music page arriving later on.

Once you've successfully installed build 10080, you should open the Store beta and install the Office apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. These are universal apps designed for on-the-go productivity. They're touch-first, built for tablets and phones, and optimized for viewing, quick edits, notes and mark-up. Don't forget to leave feedback for Microsoft.

The other apps to try are Xbox, Music Preview, and Video Preview. Project Spartan is still here. It hasn't been renamed to Microsoft Edge yet. Go download the latest preview build of Windows 10 mobile and let us know what you think so far. Do you like what you're seeing? What are your concerns? Sound off in the comments!
