VLC Windows Phone

VideoLAN has updated both the Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 VLC media player apps this week, but these new versions are mostly for bug fixes. The app's main developer, Thomas Nigro, does say that there is a beta for "Last.FM scrobbling" in the Windows Phone version.

Posting on his Twitter feed, Nigro stated, of the new Windows 8.1 version: "Audio used to crash for FLAC and WAV files, it shouldn't now." The Windows Phone version will get a larger app update soon, with Nigro writing:

The 'bigger' update will improve the % of shared XAML code, the app will be faster on low-end phones. Due at the end of the week, I think.

Thanks to everyone who tipped us!
