We Happy Few runs at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X

We Happy Few is the tale of a plucky bunch of moderately-terrible people trying to escape from a lifetime of cheerful denial in the city of Wellington Wells. The game starts at $59.99 and was previously a part of the Xbox Game Preview program.

As with any release nowadays, gamers are always curious about the difference between the Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro versions. We presented this question to Compulsion Games and a spokesperson confirmed that the game ran at native 4K resolution on Xbox One X. Apart from that, the game also supports HDR on the console. Unfortunately, the PlayStation 4 Pro version just "supports HDR". It's unclear what resolution the game runs at on Sony's machine.

We tested out We Happy Few on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro, and can confirm a substantial resolution difference between the two versions. The Xbox One X offers a much clearer picture than the competition. Unfortunately, both versions don't utilize the best textures and certain objects appear low-resolution.

In our review we said, "We Happy Few is a must-own title for any gamer who loves survival open world titles and quality world building... there is no reason not to pick this fantastic game up as soon as possible." The game launches on August 10, 2018 across all platforms.
