What you need to know

  • The "News and Interests" widget on Windows 10 appears blurry for some people.
  • The blurriness appears after installing Windows 10 update KB5001391 or later.
  • Microsoft is working on fixing the issue, which it will release as it becomes available.

Microsoft recently started rolling out the "News and interests" taskbar widget to Windows 10 PCs. The widget allows you to quickly glance at the weather and can pop open to show trending news, sports news, and other information. Unfortunately, some people see a blurry version of the widget on their PCs. As spotted by BleepingComputer, Microsoft is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.

"After installing KB5001391 or later updates, the news and interests button in the Windows taskbar might have blurry text on certain display configurations," says Microsoft.

While the widget is a new feature for Windows 10, it's shipping to older versions of the operating system as well. Any PC running the Windows 10 November 2019 Update or later should receive the feature.
