If you like using our Windows Central app for Windows 8.1, you will want to head to the Store to grab the latest update.

Version 1.3.1 is now out, and it finally addresses the formatting issues with articles. Specifically, if you noticed odd text and code in the middle of the story, that should now be fixed.

Windows Central for Windows 8.1 v1.3.1

  • Fixed an issue with styling code appearing in articles
  • Upgraded the net code of the app to improve load times
  • Re-wrote the underlying comment code for performance
  • Various upgrades as part of ongoing universal platform work

Regarding our Windows Phone app, it along with the re-worked Windows 8.1 one is still in development. The apps are being combined into one universal style Windows app, making future development and updates much easier. However, the legwork needed in the conversion is taking longer than expected. Hopefully, we will have more news to share in the coming weeks.

To force the update: Open the Store app, swipe from the right to bring up the Charms bar, Settings, App Updates, Check for updates.

If you have any problems with today's update, let us know in our support forums for this app.

Note: Due to the experimental nature of Windows 10 Preview, we cannot guarantee our app working with various builds of that OS
