Your 3D printer model might get pre-loaded with Windows 10

Microsoft continues to promote 3D printing in its Windows operating systems. It added native 3D printer drivers in Windows 8.1, along with its own 3D Builder app and will continue that support for Windows 10. Now the company is teaming up with the 3D modeling site CGTrader to give one person the chance to have his or her 3D model pre-loaded in Microsoft's 3D Builder app for Windows 10.

CGTrader says:

"Microsoft are preloading the 3D Builder printing app with Windows 10. They are looking for a 3D model specifically designed for testing and benchmarking 3D printers that will help users check the results for accuracy and deviations."

In addition to their model being pre-loaded on Microsoft's app, the first-place winner will also get a $799 Surface Pro 3 tablet, along with other prizes. The first runner-up will get a Microsoft Band, and the second runner-up will get a year of Office 365. The deadline for entries is June 11.
