Canceled Nokia Lumia prototype surfaces with impressively slim bezels

A new prototype for a canceled Nokia Lumia device has surfaced, giving us a look at what could have been. Appearing for sale on China's TaoBao and spotted by WinCentral, this particular prototype device sports impressively slim bezels that add a bit of extra flair to the Lumia design language at the time.

Unfortunately, exact detailed specs aren't available — aside from a 720p display and Snapdragon 200 processor — but the prototype itself goes by the model name NOKIA id326-3. According to WinCentral, the prototype design was eventually meant to be a part of the Android-powered Nokia X family, which debuted in 2014 just before Microsoft fully acquired the company. At some point, the device was converted to Windows Phone 8.1, as seen in the images, and presumably canceled.

This is our second look at a canceled device over the past week after the canceled Lumia 750 briefly surfaced in a video just last week. With an arguably more interesting design than what we eventually saw under Microsoft, however, the NOKIA id326-1 prototype is definitely an interesting look at what might have been.
