Ecolife Elements Top Case for LG Quantum - Review

Aftermarket cases are slowing trickling in over at the WPCentral Store and the Ecolife Elements Top Case stands out for the LG Quantum.

We've looked at the Ecolife cases before and were impressed with the quality and durability. I've been carrying my AT&T Tilt2 in Ecolife's Elements Side Case for about six months and it's still going strong. The Top Case fits the LG Quantum nicely and I recently took the case for a test drive with the new Windows Phone.

Follow the break to see what impression the Elements Case made.

Build, Fit and Feel

While the Ecolife Elements case may look like your average nylon case, it's made of recycled material. Ecolife uses material from recycled water bottles to create the fabric and it reminds me of Cordura.

The Top Case has a soft lining and a large flap that covers the top of the Quantum, holding it securely in place. Stitching was tight with no loose or frayed seams present. The flap is secured via magnets.

The Elements case has a large, hinged belt clip. The clip rotates and secures nicely to your belt. I'm partial to a horizontal case for my Windows Phones but have to admit, the Elements Top Case was really comfortable to wear. It didn't hang too low and the rotating clip allowed me to cant the case slightly forward to avoid the case riding up on my belt when sitting.

The LG Quantum fits snugly inside the Elements Top Case with just enough wiggle room to make placement and removal easy. There is just enough padding to the Elements case to provide a cushion of protection without feeling bulky.

My only reservation about the Elements Top Case is that there is a cutout at the bottom of the case that exposes the Quantum. I would have preferred the case had a solid bottom to offer more protection.

Overall Impression

If you are looking for a vertical case for your LG Quantum, the Ecolife Elements Top Case is worth strong consideration. It offers a decent level of protection, is comfortable to carry, and is environmentally friendly.

The Top Case will run your $22.95 over at the WPCentral Store. This model is also compatible with the HTC Surround. I tried the Top Case with the Samsung Focus and the flap and length of the case is just a smidgen too short for the Focus.  Hopefully, Ecolife will offer the Top Case for the Focus in the near future.
