A lot of people spend a lot of time customizing their phones to suit them perfectly. With a WM phone, we can customize the wallpaper, the colors, the fonts, the icons, the bars, the menus, etc. And there are a lot of programs and utilities to make this very easy and fun to do. But few of us ever stop to think about customizing the sound themes on our phone. Once your realize this, it can open up a whole new world to making your phone your own. With this in mind, I have reviewed Soundz Cool ver 1.1. This certainly is not the newest kid on the block, but certainly one that has been long overlooked. To find out what you have been missing read on.
The idea is simple. Soundz Cool runs on your desktop or laptop computer. It allows you to assign sounds to nearly any event on your WM phone and uploads the sound theme and all of the sound files to your WM phone with one click of the button.
It comes with 6 sound themes. Some of them are pretty cool, like the sci-fi ones or the mechanic theme. But no matter what, there was about 1/3 of the sounds that I didn't care for or I know would drive me crazy. So within a matter of minutes I was able to review each sound in a theme, and either reassign it to another sound from another theme or with a sound that I already had or remove the sound from that event all together. Soundz Cool is very intuitive and easy to use.
It can also download your current sound theme (bet you didn't even know you had one =) from your WM phone. You can then tweak just the one or two sounds you want and then upload your changes again.
Soundz Cool promises that there are other themes that are available to download for free, but I could not find any on their website. I even emailed them and did not receive any response. The lack of communication from a company with their customers, is always a huge issue me. Even if the answer is no, it is nice to have communication and know where I stand. For these two reasons alone I have knocked 2 stars off of what would have been an otherwise perfect 5 star award.
