Following FIFA 20's career mode, which was filled with bugs and led to various criticisms from fans, EA Sports has announced a handful of key changes to the upcoming FIFA 21's Career mode. These changes mainly focus on the management side of the mode, but do show that EA Sports has been listening to feedback for the fan-favorite mode.
The biggest addition to the revamped Career mode is the new interactive match sim, which allows players to jump in and out of career mode games to capitalize on key moments, like a free kick or penalty. You can also use the new management view to make tactical changes on the field as the games goes on.
Also added into the career mode is a brand new, revamped growth system. This system lets managers take a more detailed look at players, and change their positions if their attributes begin to move in a certain direction. Turn right backs into right wingers, or defensive midfielders into center backs, all as you try to fill out the gaps in your team.
An entirely new attribute that's been added to the game is match sharpness, which lets you see how well players on your team perform in the most crucial moments of a game. You can increase your players' sharpness with a brand new Active Training System, which allows you to set up group training sessions to improve certain attributes of a player.
There's also a handful of other changes, including enhanced opposition AI, new ways to sign players, and a deeper options menu that allows you to make things even more realistic if you'd like. After years of hoping for big changes, it seems like fans of FIFA's Career mode will finally be getting the mode they've been hoping for when FIFA 21 launches later this year.
FIFA 21 is currently set to launch on Oct. 9, 2020, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
