Microsoft has revealed the four games that will be free to download for Xbox Live Gold members in September as part of its Games with Gold program. They will include the original Mirror's Edge and the first game in the Forza Horizon series.
Mirror's Edge, the sci-fi first person action game, was a cult hit for Electronic Arts when it was released in 2008 for the Xbox 360. EA recently released a reboot of the game, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, for the Xbox One. Microsoft's first Forza Horizon open world racing game was released for the Xbox 360 in 2012. The next game in the series, Forza Horizon 3, is due for the Xbox One in September.
Both Forza Horizon and Mirror's Edge will be able to be played on the Xbox One via its backwards compatibility feature. Forza Horizon will be free from September 1-15, and Mirror's Edge will follow on September 16-30.
Xbox One owners will also be able to get the previously announced turn-based RPG Earthlock: Festival of Magic for free during the entire month of September. Also, Ubisoft's 2.5D platformer Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China will be free from September 16 to October 15.
