CR-200

Anyone with a Nokia Lumia 720 or higher should know by now the value of Qi wireless charging. Built in to some Lumias, optional backplate for others, what many dismissed as a gimmick has turned into a way of life for converts. Quite a few of you are even down on the Lumia 1020 because you need an optional back cover to enable the Qi. But from charging plates, to stands to speakers, Nokia has been slowly growing the Qi ecosystem and we like it a lot.

Today, we’re taking a look at the Nokia CR-200, a wireless Qi enabled car charging system for your Lumia (or any Qi enabled phone). The product retails between $75 and $100, depending on where you go, and while that is certainly a lot of money to charge your phone, like all things Nokia this is one top notch accessory.

The Nokia CR-200 Wireless Car Charger is a nifty way to keep your compatible Lumia Windows Phone juiced up in the car without the need for twisty cables. We've eyed the new charger since Mobile World Congress and it looks like it's finally going to hit store shelves. At least with one retailer.

Clove UK is noting inventory for the Nokia Wireless Car Charger is due on June 14th with a price tag of 45.83 excluding VAT and delivery costs (about $71 US).

The charger also features NFC support which will allow your Nokia Lumia to launch predefined apps such as Nokia HERE when placed in the charger. It's a nifty device and for ordering information, you can head over here to Clove for all the details.

We've experienced Nokia tease and show off its upcoming wireless charging car stand (the CR-200), with the most recent sighting at the Nokia Lumia 925 and Lumia 928 event in London. We also got to check out Nokia's docking app that would launch through NFC as the Lumia Windows Phone is inserted into the stand. Today we're pleased to relay news that this very product has now passed through FCC.

Nokia isn't just about mobile phones today at Mobile World Congress. The company is also showing off a new wireless charger for vehicles. Should you use your Lumia 920 (or other Windows Phone) in the car for navigation, etc. you may well be interested in a wireless charging unit that will provide juice to your device without cables.
