Halo: Silent Storm is an upcoming novel from New York Times Bestselling author Troy Denning. According to 343 Industries, the story follows Master Chief and Blue Team – Fred, Kelly, and Linda – during a harrowing mission early on during the Covenant War. The description reads, "This is a desperate mission. There's no denying it. But the United Nations Space Command needs time to develop effective countermeasures against Covenant technology, and it's your job to buy that time. You need to make the alien commanders afraid of us. You need to convince them that humans are crazy, that anytime a Covenant fleet outruns its support or fails to consolidate its advances, we will find a way to make it pay."

In order to promote the book, Steve Downes – the voice of Master Chief – recorded a small excerpt in his awesome, deep, grizzled manner. The clip is as dreamy as ever. We wish there was an audiobook where we could hear Downes read the whole book for hours on end. Maybe all the Halo books.
