ASUS is proving with its latest desktop you don't need a monster of a PC to get a good VR experience. At CES 2017, the company revealed the new VivoPC X, a compact desktop PC that's both compact and powerful enough to handle VR.

As reported by The Verge, the VivoPC X weighs in at just 5 pounds and packs an Intel Core i5 Kaby Lake processor, NVIDIA GTX 1060, 8GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for storage. As for ports, you're looking at 4 USB 3.1 ports, 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort with support for NVIDIA G-Sync.

If you happen to be in the market for a compact VR PC that you can easily haul around, the VivoPC X definitely looks like an interesting bet. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait a bit to get your hands on one, as the VivoPC X goes on sale in March for $799.
