Microsoft mixed reality team hiring for 'massively social gaming and entertainment experience' for PC and Xbox

As we've seen over the past several months, Microsoft is placing a lot of stock in the future of mixed reality, and it looks like that might include a pretty unique gaming and entertainment experience for PC and Xbox One. According to a new job listing spotted by Microsoft watcher Walking Cat shows that Microsoft's mixed reality team is looking for someone with an interest in massively multiplayer games and virtual reality to help craft a "massively social gaming, entertainment experience" for PC and console.

From the job listing:

Do you love MMOs? Are you excited about Virtual Reality? Would you like every Xbox user to experience your design every time they use it? We are embarking on a bold charter and need your help us take the next step. The Xbox Mixed Reality team is looking for an experienced senior design manager with deep expertise and passion around crafting immersive social systems and experiences. We're looking to build a massively social gaming and entertainment experience for both the PC and the console. Here is an opportunity to join a fun and collaborative team that experiments with the latest toys, works with state of the art tech, and crafts the future of entertainment.

The listing calls for a fairly experienced candidate who has shipped at least 3 AAA "consumer entertainment products" with 7 or more years experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, and "a strong understanding of designing in 3D. "

Windows Mixed Reality featured prominently on stage during the day two Build 2017 keynote, with Microsoft revealing motion controllers and announcing the first two low-cost headsets from HP and Acer are now up for pre-order as developer kits. Not much was revealed around gaming, but it's clear that mixed reality on Scorpio is going to be pretty great. We expect to hear more about Microsoft's plans concerning Scorpio and mixed reality at E3 in June.
