StockAlert Live! - Review

One of the nice features of Windows Phone 7 is the use of Live Tiles. They allow you to monitor key information from applications such as new messages, appointments, and weather updates.  Now you can track stock information with the Windows Phone application StockAlert Live.

Developed by Kabzara Software, allows you to track stock market activity at a glance with the Live Tile or you can open the full application for more detailed information on market activity and the stocks your interested in.

For more on StockALert Live and to see if the $.99 application is a worthy investment, follow the break.

Setting up StockAlert Live is simple. Just tap the "plus" button at the bottom of the main screen and enter the stock symbol or company name. The stock is now added to the listing on your main page.

StockAlert Live will also let you track up to six stocks on its Live Tile. These will be the first six stocks listed on the main page. To rearrange the order of listings on your main page, tap and hold the stock you want to move. A pop-up menu will appear to allow you to move or delete the stock.

StockAlert Live does more than just track stock prices. From the main listing, if you tap on an individual stock an information hub is pulled up on that particular stock. The hub includes details on the stock, any SEC filings, and any news pertaining to that particular stock.

Overall Impression

If you need an app to track your stocks, StockAlert Live is worth considering. The Live Tile gives you the ability to glance at your phone to see market activities and when you pull up the full app, you find additional information on your stocks.

The only thing that I might change about StockAlert is to add the indexes on your main screen. As is, if you want to track the Dow Jones Index, you have to add it to your stock list.

There is a free trial version of StockAlert Live and the full copy will run you $.99. We see StockAlert Live being a good investment and you can find your copy here (opens your Zune desktop).
