We've covered the game multiple times in the past, but today the developer is opening up the beta for version 3 to consumers. Wheel of Wealth is a popular, turn based (both local and online) Windows Phone game that is modeled after the Wheel of Fortune games. You spin the wheel of wealth to determine your earnings for guessing the correct letters in a word puzzle.  You play against up to two opponents,or against the phone, in a three round game.

Wheel of Wealth was recently updated to version 2.6 to resolve a nasty bug that crashed the game when you went bankrupt. You can still lose all your money but that should be all that is lost. The update also fixes a few other bugs and throws in a few performance tweaks for good measure.

If you recall, the Windows Phone game Wheel of Wealth was recently pulled from the Windows Phone Store due to a intellectual property infringement complaint. The developer vowed to resolve the issues surrounding the complaint and today we received some good news.  Wheel of Wealth is  once again listed in the Windows Phone Store.

For those not familiar, Wheel of Wealth is a Wheel of Fortune-styled game where you are given a hidden word or phrase puzzle. You spin a wheel to determine how much each correctly guessed letter is worth. With each successful guess, you get to spin again. Every letter of the alphabet is available except for vowels. Those you have to buy with your earnings.

We received some disheartening news today concerning the Windows Phone game Wheel of Wealth. The developer has received an intellectual property infringement notice from the Windows Phone Store and Wheel of Wealth will have to be unpublished.

Odd that this comes on the heels of Sony releasing the "official" Wheel of Fortune game. You can't help but wonder if Sony can't handle the competition of a similar game.

Wheel of Wealth is a Wheel of Fortune styled game for your Windows Phone. The game features local play as well as an online multi-player option. Wheel of Wealth is a fun time waster and the game has been updated to version 2.0.

The update focuses on two key areas brought to the developers attention by Wheel of Wealth users; player registration and game speed. Players weren't too eager to cough up their email address and opted for the offline game mode. To help make registration easier and more private, you can now login to play the online game through your Facebook account.

Wheel of Wealth soon to be bumped to 1.3

Wheel of Wealth, a popular Windows Phone turned-based interpretation of the TV show Wheel of Fortune, is soon to hit version 1.3 and will bring a number of improvements as well as squashing a horde of bugs. The release is currently being internally tested, and we should look to see it being submitted to the Marketplace soon. Here are the highlighted changes of the upcoming update:

  • New pass and play mode (Solo play mode).
  • Ability to enable notifications but disable toast.
  • General UI improvements.
  • Addition of sound effects.
  • Improved chat system.
  • New tile design.
  • Redesigned main menu.

Wheel of Wealth - Mango App Spotlight

Wheel of Wealth may not have Vanna White but it's a decent spin off of the hit TV Game Show the Wheel of Fortune. The Windows Phone game is a turned based game requires registration (free) and that you play against other registered players.

For those not familiar with the game show, you are given a hidden word or phrase puzzle. You spin the wheel to determine how much each correctly guessed letter is worth. With each successful guess, you get to spin again. Every letter of the alphabet is available except for vowels. Those you have to buy with your earnings.

Solve the puzzle and you pocket the winnings. If your opponent solves the word puzzle you get notta.

To make things interesting there are bonus and penalty sections to the spinning wheel (loose turn, bankrupt, free spin, etc.). Settings cover sound, vibration effects, and enabling notifications (alerts you that it's your turn).

Games in progress and completed are organized nicely on a three page hub and starting a new game is as simple as hitting the plus sign from the hub. All in all, Wheel of Wealth is a fun game for your Windows Phone. The only thing missing is the ability to play a solo game for practice. Otherwise, if you're a fan of the Wheel of Fortune type games, Wheel of Wealth is worth a try.

Wheel of Wealth is a free, ad-supported game for your Windows Phone that you can find here at the Windows Phone Marketplace. Remember, this is a Mango app so you'll need to be running Windows Phone 7.5.

Like Wheel of Fortune? If so then you'll want to head to Shantek Online Solutions, developers of an upcoming game called 'Wheel of Wealth'. They're looking for about 100 beta testers for their upcoming release to put their game through the wringer, finding bugs, giving recommendations, etc. You don't need to be a developer either as they're going through the new "private beta Marketplace" made available via the AppHub. You simply supply your LiveID, you get a special download link from the Marketplace and bam, you have a new game to test for a few weeks.
