Here's a list of every Halo 5: Guardians launch edition and their contents

Halo 5 is almost here, and the reviews so far seem overwhelmingly positive.

If you haven't pre-ordered already, here's an overview of the game's various editions and what each of them offers.

Halo 5: Guardians - Standard Edition / Pre-order Edition

Here's the most basic edition, containing only Halo 5: Guardians - the latest and greatest in one of the world's most popular video game franchises. In our review, Paul Acevedo praised the game's "cutting edge" design and emotional campaign, calling it a logical extension of the events of previous titles. If you pre-order the game on the Xbox Store, you're automatically treated to the "Pre-Order Edition", which includes a loadout weapon and a custom skin.

Halo 5: Guardians - Limited Edition

Here's where things start to get interesting! The Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition comes with a unique steel book disc case, a constructible Guardian model and various other extras listed below. As of writing, the LE is selling out at many retailers, so be quick if you're interested in buying!

Halo 5: Guardians - Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe version contains all the digital benefits from the Limited Edition, as well as a copy of Halo: Spartan Assault, the top-down twin-stick shooter originally available for Windows Phone.

Halo 5: Guardians - Limited Collector's Edition

The Halo 5: Guardians Collector's Edition contains all the content from the Limited Edition in addition to a commemorative statue of the Chief and Spartan Locke, designed by 343i themselves. Quantities for this edition also seem to be dwindling, so make sure to buy soon if you're considering it.

Halo 5: Guardians - Limited Edition Console

This is for people who are really ready to break the bank. The Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition Console comes with everything in the Limited Edition, including a sleek custom Xbox One with 1TB storage. The custom console is designed to match the Halo universe's UNSC tech, and comes complete with custom sound effects for its hardware functions.

Microsoft have certainly pulled out all the stops when it comes to Halo 5's launch editions. Naturally, each of the above is subject to availability per region, especially where the limited editions are concerned.

Halo 5 is doing tremendously well so far, sitting at 85% on Metacritic. During the Halo 5 Live event, Microsoft revealed that the franchise has sold 67 million units to date, solidifying its place as one of the most successful video game franchises of all time.
