Battlefield 1: Turning Tides expansion coming soon with amphibious battles and more

The next expansion for Battlefield 1, Turning Tides, will land in December with a load of new content to check out. As revealed by EA, Turning Tides will hit the ground running with new maps, weapons, a new operation, and much more.

Turning Tides will let players occupy the boots of the British Empire's Royal Marines for the first time. At its launch in December, Turning Tides will pack two new maps: Cape Helles and Achi Baba, both of which are on the Gallipoli peninsula. A new operation will let you take part in the British amphibious assault on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915 across both maps. January will see the launch of two more new maps: Heligoland Bight and Zeebrugge.

Players will get to take advantage of a new L-Class Destroyer, as well as a C-Class Airship. A new stealth-focused class, The Infiltrator, will also be available to play. Here's how EA describes it:

Hide in plain sight and move faster across the battlefield with the new Infiltrator Elite Class. This strategic kit allows you to take advantage of a permanent sprint boost while calling in artillery strikes and deploying a mobile spawn for friendly troops.

Lastly, EA and Dice are introducing a new twist on Conquest mode, fittingly called Conquest Assault. The mode will see attackers and defenders fight over areas that are controlled by the defenders at the very start of the match.

EA and Dice say that the new maps, operation, class, vehicles, guns, and specializations will all be available starting in December. In January 2018, Turning Tides owners will get access to two more maps and the Royal Marines faction.

Turning Tides will be available either separately or as part of the $49.99 Battlefield 1 Premium Pass. Battlefield 1 itself is also available now for $39.99.
