The best Flickr app for Windows 10 and Mobile is just Perfect

It's no secret that Microsoft's mobile ambitions are often hampered by the lack of official apps. Photo sharing site Flickr dropped support for Windows Phone back in 2014 and since then we have had a few good alternatives.

A new third-party Flickr app has hit the Store recently built for Windows 10 and Mobile. Perfect Flicker is from the developer Perfect Thumb, and it is, in my opinion, an outstanding contribution to the platform.

Perfect Flicker does everything you would want from an official Flickr app including having a gorgeous design, fluid animation, and tons of features, including:

  • Put your free 1000GB to work - upload all your photos and videos to your Flickr
  • Engage with friends, family and explore the Flickr community - there are millions of groups and billions of photos out there to discover.
  • Watch mini thumbnail while browse others.
  • Sign in your Flickr account and manage your photostream, albums, favorites, groups, contacts...
  • Pin profile, albums, groups to startscreen.
  • View, share and post comments to a photo.
  • View camera info, albums and photo tags.
  • Download photo and set background / lockscreen.
  • Browse and join group.
  • Follow / Unfollow people.
  • Upload photos from your camera roll to Flickr automatically.

In my hands-on video above you can see the app in action and it is quite impressive. It runs just as well on Windows 10 Mobile bringing the full Flickr experience to all your devices.

Perfect Flicker was just updated twice this week with fixes and even more features e.g. quality of the images to download, auto-upload album selection, white theme and more. Even better is the app is currently free as far as I can tell.

Perfect Flicker

Yahoo! and Flickr may have missed the mobile photo craze that Instagram is still enjoying, but I have to admit that this makes me rethink using Flickr again. I used to put many of my DSLR photos on the site years ago, and I may have to revisit doing that again for mobile too.

Grab the app, let me know what you think in comments and make sure you leave a review for Perfect Flicker if you liked it!

  • Perfect ! Perfect !
  • Sweeeeettt!!! Hope so the devs consider one for 500px too there all apps are amazing ;D
  • No landscape mode on mobile. Not perfect.
  • Agreed, really needs that, but the rest is excellent !!
  • This is interesting. If I would like to migrate my photo from Google Drive, how can I do it?
  • I am on the fence about adding more storage via Onedrive or just using flickr
  • The future of Flickr is very unclear.
  • Good point but I wish we had an amazon prime app like this so I could utilize that storage
  • i recently moved to android after paypal left and i use onedrive there its still great, its also on the ipohne so onedrive isnt a bad choice.
  • So cool!
  • WAtlast I got this app for my photography
  • Its good but still lacks some features like notifications and has some letter issues in main menu. Best so far indeed, but there is no other app in store to access Flickr.
  • I love this app, with photography as my main hobby an app this good has been top of my list for a loooooooooooong time, It's not perfect yet no, but a fantastic start !!!
  • Installing now.  I use Flickr all the time to post my photos and see what others are doing.  Much better than selfigram.  I just followed you, Daniel.
  • Nice, guess I'll have to start making more photos :P
  • About time too... with all the travelling you do I still look on awaiting inspiration !!
  • Well, time to make the switch. I was 500px loyal until they dropped Windows support. This app is about to make me a Flickr convert.
  • Perfect Flicker is a wonderful app. But my vote still goes to Flickr Central.
  • Flickr Central broke for many (login to Flickr failures) some time ago. No fix available. I tried to contact developer. No response.
  • I heard lots of users had the log in issue. Glad mine still working well and its UI more intuitive.  I tried Perfect Flicker which seemed promising. Will totally switch to Perfect Flicker whenever Flickr Central failed me.
  • think the developer of flickr central has lost interest in Windows
  • Certainly seems like it, I emailed them a few times with no response :( - if it comes back I will not be moving from this one !!!
  • Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting for a new Flickr app on the 10 platforms. The Flickr Central app, which was excellent, stopped working some time ago - couldn't get past login and the developer never fixed it.
  • After about 30 minutes using this app I gave it 5 stars at the Store. I suspect it will get better but for now, this user has no problems with it.
  • Looks nice! I'll check it out.  Does anyone know what is that weather widget shown in the video to the left side of the app?
  • looks really good.
