CBC News app for Windows Phone updated with push notifications

The Canadian news app CBC has been updated to version 1.1, which introduces push notifications.  The app enables users to keep up to date with content from the CBC website. With the added push notifications, CBC News now offers a rich reading experience with full-screen video, high quality image galleries, and more.

We like the design and feel of the interface, which provides the user with an extremely easy to use service. You can download CBC News from the Marketplace for free (restricted to Canadian Marketplace). Thanks, Crushing Destroyer, for the heads up!

  • Perfect, I can keep up with the War of 1812 celebration news this summer! :-)
  • The story is in error. The App is NOT restricted to the Canadian marketplace. I've been running it on my US phone since v1.0 and just upgraded with no problem.
  • @robertgknight - those would be the Canadian Victory commemorations eh!
  • I love this app almost as much as I love the WP Central App, almost.
  • @robertgknight & @MadSci2 I keep wondering if Harper is going to have a big celebration about the White House torching.

  • Careful, MadSci2, CSIS could be monitoring, oh dear
