Disqus universal app exits beta on Windows 10 PC and Mobile

After a period of open beta testing that stretches back to last year, the new Disqus universal app is now available as a full release. Coming in a version 4.0.19, the new Disqus is available to download now for both Windows 10 PC and Windows 10 Mobile.

There isn't actually a full list of changes available for the update just yet, but the app has been built from the ground up for Windows 10. Some of the highlights of this update include a completely revamped design, reply notifications, and support for Facebook, Twitter, and Google logins. There's also a new image uploader, and you can create discussions from within the app.

Once Disqus posts a detailed list of changes, we'll update this post with more. For now, however, you can grab the full universal Disqus app from the Windows Store. And if you're down for testing out new features, the Disqus Beta is still available for download as well.

  • Which version is ahead the beta or the Windows 10 version
  • The non-Beta is ahead by one version, but only includes some bug fixes from the previous beta build
  • Thanks
  • Both are the same currently.
  • Download both already. I like em both 👍🌹
  • Some are coming and some are going.
  • Sweet!
  • Awesome!
  • Still beta on Windows 10 PC, the non-beta isn't available to download on PCs, it's mobile only
  • I just installed the new Disqus on my Surface. V4.0.19. USA
  • Only v4.0.17 beta on PC here, the link in the article open the page but says 'Not compatible with this device' so can't download it
  • For some reason it's not installing in my 640xl.
  • Thanks for the support, everyone! Our release notes are now up here: https://disqus.com/home/channel/start/discussion/channel-start/disqus_is...
  • Thank YOU for all your efforts!
  • Huge THANK YOU @ryanv12 for supporting Windows 10 platform. I love the app!
  • I have a problem when trying to install the Disqus app from the Store. After pressing the install button I get this message "Something went wrong on our end. Please try again later, because the problem may have been solved." I tried it with wifi and cellular. /Lumia 640 XL W10M
  • Maybe it's because of the outage in the Store/MS Accounts earlier? Does it work now?
  • Now it works! I don't know if it was due to rebooting the phone or the outage, but at least now it works. Thanks!
  • Reboot and try. It might be a store issue.
  • Same here on my Lumia 640xl.
  • Now it works on my 640 XL. :)
  • I get that as well, i also got it last week when I was going to look at an app that someone wanted to know about. since I do not run UWA normally, I had to download it to check, but got the same message. Maybe MS knows i do not like their UWA and decided not to allow me to download them.  I was only going to be nosy anyway, I would not have kept it.
  • Hmmm.. just downloaded this app today. Its a great looking app and works beautifully.
  • I wish that Windows Central would switch to Disqus.
  • This
  • Just downloaded the app, looks good.
  • I'm considering changing my website over to a discus comment system with this news
  • The next release should include some community management tools 👍
  • Would you happen to have an estimated time of release window? Please forgive me if it sounds like I'm impatient or rushing or ungrateful. I'm just curious for planning is all
  • Nah, I don't care for this. I don't want an app for every website I use every now and then. I'll use the web, thanks.
  • That's perfectly fine, use it how you like!
  • I agree with that, I do not see the point either,
  • Got it today in the UK on PC, 4.0.19
  • Just installed it on my mobile, it works really great, it is fast fluid to use.
