Fan-made WP7 shown at MIX, potentially TV advert

Brandon Foy made a fan video for Windows Phone 7 that became quite popular throughout the community--anyone remember this? The WP7 team at Microsoft was continuously pointed to the video and they decided to show it as an introduction at MIX'11: the Wednesday WP7 focused keynote.

Not only that, but Joe Belfiore, who oversees Windows Phone Program Management stated that Microsoft plan to use the video as a television advertisement should the video pass 200,000 views. You can check out the video here (opens in new tab) for comments and to rate it, spread the word and help us get Brandon's work on the big screen.

  • I can probably generate a few hundred views with Gizmodo Star status. I'll post it on every WP7 article for a couple days, till I get in trouble.
  • the problem is gizmodo writes a wp7 article once every month. possibly.
  • Sometimes it feels like fan made ads are designed to give people seizures, lol.
  • +1! lmao!
  • Awesome advert. A little long for a T.V. spot, but could be cut down to fit. However, the mock-up of the physical phone that was used ruined the whole thing for me. If they had used the standard MS one that everyone else uses, or a Focus or HD7 or something, the add would be amazing.
  • Like the original one better. Just had better movement to it. There's a lot of parts in this one that seem like it's just phones floating to fill space. All these critiques, but I still like the spot. The original one was just tighter all around.
  • Same here... the older one was short but left you wanting more, and that tune was insanely catchy, worse was the fact that it really didn't have any words to singalong with so you just keep humming this silly tune, lol. But yea, being someone of no talent in such things, I'm not laying any **** on his comparably monumental achievement... I just liked the first one better... and the we love windows 7 iconography at the end of that was awesome too..
  • Yea, I will be posting this on facebook lol! LETS GET THIS GUY VOTES!!! (views whatever).
