"The Dell XPS 13 with Snapdragon is identical to the XPS 13 Plus from last year, but with a more powerful and efficient chip under the hood. It gets some of the best battery life we've seen, but beware of a potentially buggy trackpad." ~ Zac Bowden, Senior Editor

Why buy a Dell XPS laptop?

All of these Dell laptops are fantastic devices in their own right, but the one that has the most affordable price tag among this discounted bunch is the Dell XPS 13 (9345), which has had its $1,399.99 (listing) price cut by 29% to $999 at Dell.

This stellar-looking laptop with its Snapdragon X Elite CPU, Adreno GPU, and 32GB of RAM will make digital mincemeat out of productivity workloads like writing documents in Microsoft Office, creating art in Adobe Photoshop, attending virtual online meetings, and internet browsing, so you can get out of work faster and chill out at home.

It also features a modern Copilot key for fast access to local AI-related tasks like Cocreator and Click to Do.

The Dell XPS 13 (9345) also has a highly responsive and comfortable keyboard, a detailed 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 500 nits max brightness to give images and videos detailed resolutions with smooth frame rates, and a long-lasting battery life of 19 hours and 37 minutes (as Zac Bowden discovered in his 4-star review of the Dell XPS 13).

However, just because the Dell XPS 13 is now under $1,000 doesn't mean the other, more expensive laptops in this round-up should be overlooked for those who need something bigger.

The Dell XPS 14 is a high-performance machine fit for processing workflow tasks in a flash with its Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor, 14.5-inch 2K OLED display, 8 hours of battery life, and an optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card configuration to give it the ability to play more demanding PC games and render more visually demanding creations.

Meanwhile, the Dell XPS 16 is a powerhouse outfitted with a 16.3-inch 4K OLED display, tons of storage space (up to 4TB), 32GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card so it can run even more demanding 3D rendering software and creative software apps with ease.

FAQ

Are Dell XPS laptops upgradeable?

Dell XPS laptops have varying degrees of upgradeability. The Dell XPS 13 is not entirely upgradeable, as its RAM is soldered directly onto the motherboard, but the M.2 SSD can be changed. Similarly, for the Dell XPS 14 and 16 laptops, the RAM can't be upgraded because it is soldered, but their SSDs can be replaced and upgraded with larger ones.

Are Dell XPS laptops good for gaming?

While some of these laptops can be fitted with RTX 40 or 50 Series graphics cards to help run games at 1080p resolutions, the Dell XPS laptops are not explicitly designed to be used as dedicated gaming laptops.

Their modest integrated GPUs can limit their AAA gaming performance, and their ultra-thin chassis isn't designed for the kind of extra airflow that stops thermal throttling when running intensive AAA games.
