  • Awesome!
  • You have to wonder how many Lumias Microsoft would've sold in the past year had they bothered to advertise their phones... at all.
  • Or had they bothered to put decent specs in their phones
  • There is no flagship with better and more complete featuresets out there on the market today. Nothing competes with the 950-series.
  • BS.
  • Which current phone has specs of Lumia 950 XL?
  • ???????????
  • /s
  • Uh no. That's just wrong. I don't follow smartphones that much, but I have a feeling there's some Android phone out there that destroys the 950.
Also don't forget the mess that is W10M, even after PUBLIC release.
  • He was just talking about the hardware features. And your feeling is wrong.
  • This is true. Name one flagship which has - QHD screen, SD810, 3 GB RAM, biometric security, 32 gigs of storage WITH expandable memory, 3000+ mAh battery, removable battery, removable back covers, a great camera WITH OIS AND camera shutter, NFC, Wireless charging, USB Type-C with USB 3.1, Dual SIM and pretty sure I'm forgetting something. Really, in terms of specs, there is nothing that is above the 950XL. And no, the new S7/G5 don't count as they are a generation ahead.
  • @Sagar Limaye:
This is the way to roll!
Duck Microsoft and their feeble attempts at creating junk for nothing.
  • Yeah, them featherquackers!
  • Your mean Nokia.... Every Lumia came from there portfolio; changing the company name on the case doesn't mean it was designed by Microsoft. Panos was just put in charge of design and engineering of premium devices
  • I forgot to mention:
Or had they built a stable OS
  • It's not a battle of the specs, my 1GB WP is smoother than many phones with 3x that amount of memory.
  • Maybe on 8.1. Not W10M. Posted via Note 4/Nexus 7 (2013)/Lumia 1020/ Lumia 2520
  • this is only because windows 10 is still in progress...it is not completed
  • My lumia 535(1GB RAM) is faster on W10M than 8.1
  • My Lumia 640 is faster on Windows 10 Mobile than it was on 8.1...
  • Lol there are Lumia 950/xl and Lumia 550 commericals on TV all the time in here Finland! Maybe you guys troll or just whine here... These are just phones after all... If Windowsphone faill (IF!!!) I'll just get the ******* android and use that WP 8 style launcher.
  • You can put makeup on a pig...
  • Yep. Haven't seen one single Lumia commercial. Tons of Surface and Surface Book commercials but not a single Lumia commercial. Probably only one for the 550 I think but who cares. This phone is instantly one to salivate for and the Lumia 950/XL just weren't that( despite their everything included specs) and even Microsoft admitted to not spending money on marketing for the new flagships. One picture at a time -- LG V10
  • The only Lumia phone commercials I've ever seen are: the one with will arnet, the Lumia icon for Verizon, the Lumia 635 vs iPhone commercial, and HTC Verizon commercial. Oh wait the Lumia 925 T-Mobile phone. Well, if you count the Annie movie, that's 6. If you've seen it, it was mainly a windows Promo.
  • Oh and there was a Lumia on a mac and cheese commercial.
  • Annie was pretty much a Microsoft showcase of you asked me. You could tell the Stacks phones were Windows phone prototypes and the whole condo setup with voice recognition and stuff was very Windows based. Also Scandal was a huge supporter of Windows phone for a long time. Haven't watched in a couple years so I don't know if they still feature them. But I haven't see any commercials for the flagships. One picture at a time -- LG V10
  • Yes, Scandal still has the Microsoft stamp on it. Olivia Pope and Abbey still use Windows Phones, and now you can see Surface Pros and even the Surface Book in this latest season. Pretty cool!
  • Lol well you took my quotes out of context though so it doesn't make as much sense when you quote it without the rest. One picture at a time -- LG V10
  • How many years ago did MS have the phone commercial with everyone saying "Really??!" Everyone was walking into people and things while trying to us some competitors phone inferring that the MS phone ecosystem was much simpler to use. That commercial still makes me laugh.
  • Those were the good ole day. But hands down my favorite one was the "beta tester" commercial for the Lumia 900 I believe. "Was I a beta tester?" lmbo One picture at a time -- LG V10
  • Duh I forgot the apple and android fanboy wars commercials! Remember that one commercial with the guy who ripped his shirt open and had the apple logo tattooed on his chest?
  • In italy we didn't have any commercial yet...i think that i saw it once in my life
  • I have seen two commercials in my entire life. One was for 900. And the other, probably for 630. I don't even remember. No advertising whatsoever in India.
  • I've seen commercials for the Lumia 1020, the HTC 8X, the HTC One M8 for Windows, and the Lumia 635.
  • I haven't seen a Windows Phone commercial on U.S. television since the Lumia 928 launched in May 2013.
  • MSFT doesn't want to fill all the gaps of WP. Clearly, other companies can do it better.
  • Microsoft doesn't want to be in the hardware busines. The idea is to show a great product and get other companies to follow suit.
  • Quality? Have you seen what a total cluster**** that SP4/SB have been with sleep/wake issue, BSODs, poor battery life, display driver crashes, not able to disconnect tablet portion, light bleed, Edge crashing, poor SSD performance and much more. Let me know when Surface rises to the quality of a Mac.
  • Have you seen that the fault with the sleep/wake and other issues are caused by Intels Skylake processor. I see you have the typical Apple Fanboi reality distortion field in place.
  • They like being in the surface business ...i don't think they mind hardware.
  • Not sure how many would have sold, but I am sending my third 950 back to At&t under warranty and they are out of stock so I am waiting on my fourth while using a phone that does not have a working speaker. Pretty much phoneless right now other than typing this. Junk so far.
  • The L950 is, bar none, one of the worst phones of all time.  Partially, it's cheap hardware.  Mostly, it's the horror of W10M.  All these devices are DOA unless MS can make W10 not suck.  So far, they've made painfully little progress.
  • Have you owned a L950? I think it's the best Lumia yet. Granted I have only been using Lumia devices for just over 3 years, and coming Did/do you own a 950? I find the 950 to be the best Lumia i have owned yet. Then again for my uses it is more than adequate. By far the best of the 3 Lumia's I have owned.
Give win10 a chance,it is getting better and better. My phone is operating nearly just as smooth as 8.1 now. There is still some minor bugs, but it in no way to me takes away from the user experience.
  • If they spend $1 billion in advertising like Samsung and Apple.
  • Probably about the same number. Maybe a percent or two more.
  • Agreed. Microsoft doesn't seem confident in their own product in established markets but do advertise in smaller markets where the numbers are negligible at best. The honest truth is their phones are awesome but not enough people know that, or know about them. I like this HP phone, which is saying a lot since I don't like their other devices. None of them. If the price is right, I'd rock this with my Lumia 950xl and make it my developer phone.
  • W10M is born today!
  • Or reborn however you look at it
  • I wan't quite sure before today though.
  • Nice
  • If they upgrade flash and put camera button I could even think of selling my 950
  • Yep, that is a great promo !!!
  • watched this video... and my 950XL is already in the bin
  • Lolwa
  • This video rocks!
  • Yeah, these kinda like videos I have seen only in HTC's Windows Phone 7 devices. Powerful!!!
  • Indeed, that's the sort of techno funky future shít you want, not this weak as píss life and family experience nonsense that MS seem to churn out all the time.
  • Yeah I agree.   The this is the stuff.  I have played around with Windows 10 phone if they fix the App problem through the virtual desk then this would be a good contender.
  • I just hope to see more advertising like this.
  • Agree
  • It's a device aimed at enterprise IT buyers, so you likely won't.
  • Because corporations and IT buyers don't exist anymore?
  • Sent from my 950xl, but thanks anyone kevin.
  • Now THAT is what you call a promo!! Keep it up HP. I guess this fits in to Satya's "Reinventing categories" statement.
  • Correction this is what you call a flagship smartphone
  • @kenswiss
    Amen to that.
  • Except probably the most important thing about the promo is they didn't market it as a phone. The fact it worked as a smartphone was just a small part of it. New category.
  • Yup.. It is a new category, smartphone is such a common word this day and time, I actually like the idea " with the connectivity of a smartphone " something new to catch interest, and leaves alot of space in the ad to embellish on everything else it's capable of doing.
  • Quite an impressive promo
  • Beats the crap out of the 650 so called business phone Posted via the WPC App for Android!
  • And will cost a lot more.
  • But this is what the businesses asked for so it won't matter since the device gives businesses the ability to do what they want with it. One picture at a time -- LG V10
  • Businesses are used to overpaying for what they get. At least the larger companies are. Case in point, at my employer getting a HP laptop with a lousy 1352x768 12" display and all other specs mediocre to average will cost your department around $1300. Presumably there is some feature to make these "business class," but from what I've seen of the laptops my company is getting shafted by as much as $800 each.
  • And we only have to wait another 6 months for it to be actually released.
  • Yea, true. Lets hope some nice things happen untill then (Islandwood, Redstone, Cortana on more languages, availability in India...).
  • You will probably get four 650's for the price of one Elite though...
  • Who cares,  not the same person even looking at both.
  • I'd guess only 2.5 of 650s, but my estimate is probably closer than yours
  • While I do like this phone A LOT, budget doesn't allow BUT it does make me happy that eventually all of this will come to mid range. Future of phones seams exiting again after a long time.
  •  I was at an HP conference 2 weeks ago and saw the promo for this device.  I, too, was concerned about the price, but the rep said HP will be keeping the price down to try to move quantity.  I'm not sure what price that translates into, but let's hope it's reasonable.
  • Thanks for sharing, Sunshine.
  • That's actually fairly impressive.
  • And will be available in a half year "already". We'll have to see if it remains that impressive until then... Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Since business people will be using this they don't need to impress consumers. Are Lenovo ThinkPads impressive or just highly functional and reliable?
  • Who ordered bbq? :D
  • Hey Dan, what build was on this phone?
  • Hey Daniel. You are right, business people aren't looking to impress with their business hardware. But hey, while you are there and schmoozing, can you REALLY pound the idea home to the OEMS that WE ALL WANT A FRICKEN CAMERA BUTTON!!!! Two stages would be nice. I swear this feature alone may be the tipping point to convince people to like it or hate it.
  • Hey Cortana, open phone.
  • By the time she responds your shot is gone. Meanwhile, I'll have captured half dozen shots on my aging L925.
  • They don't need to, but this might be one of those phones that does anyway, which is a shame because the software hasn't caught up just yet. Anyway, HP is really taking MS's "one" platform and running with it.
  • Thinkpads are all three: impressive and highly functional and reliable.  That's why they're legendary.
  • Roasted
  • Lol he'll taste good with mayo... :P
  • Why don't you take that Android-spirit of yours and head off to somewhere else?
  • Oh. My. Goodness. What a phone.
  • Why am i excited even though i can't but any device these days... Just that am Snelling success of waas aka windows 10's success
  • This is a hell of a promo.
  • OH my GOD....
that advertisement(windows mobile) made my day.
  • This thing is a beast!!
  • I need a beast.  My L950XL will become my wife's new phone in late Summer.  :-)
  • Was thinking the same ;-)
  • This makes me really happy. Microsoft's plan. Is. WORKING. Like the Surface, the 950 has shown off what Windows 10 can do and now others are getting inspired to make true beasts that quite literally could change computing. This phone is immensely impressive (though I'm sticking with my new 950XL for sure) and I really hope it does well. Who said Windows 10 Mobile had failed?
  • Windows 10 mobile 1st party has failed! Get off the Koolaid. 3rd party offerings look promising, but Windows 10 on mobile is still only 32 bit and not even close to being stable. 3 years ago Apple introduced 64 bit OS to its phones and 3 years later Windows 10 is only 32 bit. What a Joke. I love OneCore, but Windows 10 mobile has a long way to go to catch up.
  • What for you need 64bit in a phone? Windows NT can handle both x86 and x64 since ages, btw. And so it will on phones ones the demand is there
  • Do you know what 64-bit will do for you on your phone?
  • He doesn't care. Givez Moar numbers! Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Apple introduced 64 bit OS to iPhone's with 1 GB of RAM. The true benefits of 64-bit computing begin at 4GB of addressable memory, I'm guessing this is why the Elite X3 went with 4GB of RAM and the 820 processor. It may just come with a 64-bit version of Windows 10 Mobile when this device is made available in the summer.
  • This is the truth.  I don't know what the people on this site are smoking, but it's some good stuff.  The Lumia 950 is a disaster of a phone.  Just.  Horrible. And so unbelievably behind the times it's scary.
  • Can you list 1 benefit that 64bit brought the iPhone? Posted via Note 4/Nexus 7 (2013)/Lumia 1020/ Lumia 2520
  • Performance, since 64 bit is the only way to take advantage of the AArch64 instruction set including double the amount of available processor registers.
  • This video proves that windows 10 is the best os ever. Wow. Iphone and android you missed the mark. Well done Microsoft. Instead of making phones, do this. Make the best os ever. Yes there are bugs but wow the capabilities are in a new world Microsoft.has done it and hp has made the devices I have been dreaming of forever. Wow wow wow. It makes every phone barring 950, 950xl look so "stupid"
  • As of right now my plan is to definitely ditch my 950 for this or something like this device. I can't resist.
  • Great ad, explained everything very quickly and really got me pumped with the music.

  • Offff! Really amazing.
  • My Lumia 730 is unable to receive the latest windows 10 mobile update. I m on insider fast ring
  • It's only for x50 phones. You have to edit registry to get it. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Excellent business move HP it's the most beautiful windows phone up to date, No watch Dell, Samsung, Lenovo and Microsoft follow lol
  • The phone!!!! The ultimate phone. Surface, what you gonna do?
  • Finally a good 1520 replacement!
  • Precisely, a 1520 user can gladly call this an upgrade!
  • Except on camera front.
  • maybe the rear camera, but as for the front facing, it'll be a huge upgrade on the 1mp front shooter on the 1520
  • I've been with WM since 2008 with my HTC Shadow on WM6 and I honestly have to say that this is the phone that I've been waiting 8 years for. The ultimate superphone.
  • wow!!!! very impressed, from HP no less! (im assuming its not HP enterprise, right?)
  • truly amazing !  hp windows mobile with the the ultimate power ! (Y)
  • Holy $#!+ Michael bay
  • That's a ******* cool promo. Advertising the strengths of the platform the way it's supposed to be done.
  • Looks like HP got it right this time. I'm impressed. Looks like my next phone, especially if it comes in dual sim.
  • Wow, so awesome! And who else checked their phone during the promo when it started chiming?
  • What a beautiful beast!
  • Again Just Wow. To be honest. I was about to give up on windows phone. Is this the next level? The next step? Can it be done? HP just did. Looking forward for the next... (Panos?)
  • Exactly. Waiting for Panos' move.
  • i think design wise panos could make something a little more elegant, but this phone is goingnto be hard to beat! unless i see something better, this has my name written all over it!
  • So cool
  • This is what the "surface phone" should look like, this is truly inspiring
  • Want apps?...
You can run virtual apps from your companies server... No there wont be any in the store :(
  • http://techcrunch.com/2016/02/21/hp-announces-yet-another-mobile-product...
  • Wow
  • sites like those are just crap.
  • No Camera button? How hard can that be?
And I hate the soft buttons of Windows 10.
  • I wonder why many manufactures forgo this feature, is it patented or something! But the phone is so elegant one can easily forget they couldn't put up with a phone that is lacking a physical camera button
  • Journalists!!
  • Love this video. I got the same excitement from it just like when the L920 was announced. Well done. I'm beyond stoked.
  • Humm seem to be very nice !!
  • I had to watch the video again. I really like what I see here, not only an impressive device but a reputable company making the most out of Windows 10. Let's hope other manufacturers follow HP's lead. I hope that consumers can still get their hands on something like this (i.e. no crazy business contracts, just a hefty price tag).
  • When in India?
  • Question. Are they able to include Glance, or is that a MS only thing. And if not, does it at least have a Notification LED, now that W10 Mobile supports it?
  • Forget about Obama's beast!
  • Anyone knows the cost of this phone???
  • Now that's what I call an ad. The device itself is gorgeous but the ad made me WANT one.
  • And suddenly my Lumia 950 is left even more wanting, lol! These truly are incredible specs for such a svelte device. And HP have clearly thought more about what it does and how it might be used (including the front facing camera, which does HDR with bracketing from what I picked up from the hands-on, nicely done!) in businesses especially. Hopefully it does well. And this is a great opening salvo for Windows 10 mobile devices that no longer will be relying on Lumia and instead build an ecosystem of OEMs. Great stuff, looking forward to seeing more throughout the week at MWC.
  • I want!
  • Beautiful beast!!!
  • Never really considered getting a WP that wasn't Nokia/Microsoft. Are they good/supported?
  • 4100 mah battery? Wow!  Now I know why it is called X3 apart from it is the next to X2. It is a combination of the 1) The power of the PC, 2) The versatility of the tablet, and 3) the connectivity of the smartphone! This is indeed a beast phone for serious enterprise user and that because of Windows 10 OS.
  • Oh, I want the monitor and keyboard accessories. I hope it works with my Luymia 950XL?
  • Yeah I hope the Mobile Extender will support my Lumia 950 and maybe the dock too. Everything else is already accounted for with the Wireless Display Adapter and Microsoft Continuum Dock. But the HP dock would be so much nicer than the Microsoft one due to the way it docks the smartphone in.
  • Knowing HP over the years, I would bet the dock would not line up with the 950/950XL or fit, you would have to cut plastic to get it to line up. Could be some HP based software on the doc that could stop it too. The laptop shell is a big maybe...
  • Awesome! Speechless!
  • This is crazy! Really crazyasss good!
  • Wait a minute... It has 4GB of ram, but W10M is 32bit, so it will only use 3'8GB like in PC? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • No, the 3.8GB limit on Windows 9x was artificial to sell Windows NT based OS.
  • I'm saying this because my HP ProBook did only use 3'8 when I upgraded the RAM and it was still running 32bit Win7 Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • As I wrote, that was an artificial limitation done by Micrososft to force people to buy the 64bit version. Eventually there was a PAE Patch released in TechNet.
  • No, the 3.6GB limit is to do with addressable memory space, it wasn't just a limitation of Windows.
64bit doesn't gain anything in normal operations, unless you are doing complex calculations that can use it, such as image manipulation algorithms.
  • Yeah I have 64 bit Windows 10 with 4 gig ram and I can only use 3.43 of it
  • That's f*****omg awesome phone....
  • Whilst I love the specs, there is one area for me that I need, which may be the Achilles heel. The camera. I appreciate that for the business market it isn't critical, for me it is a deal breaker. Having said that, I am sure this will have a decent shooter, just not Lumia class.
  • Definitely promoted as a 100% device then. That's a great idea. Good promo.
  • Incredible! I want everyone to see this video. *claps*
  • Went straight to my FB page.. What a awesome phone!
  • Beautiful? Ugly retro design
  • beg to differ....
  • This is a prototype, even though final product will have 80% of look and feel of a prototype it will make you fall in love with!! It may get all-metal-unibody-design with finger print scanner ..who knows?!
  • Debbie Downer.
  • Pfftchfftch
  • But will it hit Verizon? That is the question.
  • verizon won't play ball with MS ... i wonder if HP can have better luck
  • Hope so
  • If it is meant to be used by enterprise customers I guess that it will be usable on any network, but then again, here in europe we dont use CDMA so I don't know for sure
  • Says in the hands on video hp is at least talking to Verizon so we will c..
  • Incredible!!! The phone MS should have made. Hopefully I don't have to wait too long for this one to come my way ☺
  • Awesomeness just
  • Why would I be using my power button more than my volume buttons? Very lovely phone, but I do love my dedicated camera button.
  • You probably wake the phone a lot more than you adjust volume.  I know I do (maybe you're different).
  • Killer phone, amazing. I hope windows 10/mobile can iron out its kinks prior to it releasing, or it's doomed from the start.
  • What kinks? Maybe I'm missing something but my 830 works well with insider preview.
  • Same here. +830
  • Just awesome. Microsoft strategy works, OEMs putting effort on windows 10 will help to increase the interest for devices with the system
  • This may be the phone to get me back on Windows. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • I'd like to see how the virtualizing does work!!!
  • Yes, same here. If it works well it will have exciting possibilities.
  • This one ad has blown the entire Lumia range out of the waters....
  • Price ??
  • It brings me back to Hp6315 days. It was a good all in one device.
  • All of you saying you want this phone, you do realise that when it arrives it will be super expensive, I wouldn't be surprised if it was towards the £1000 mark inc vat, around £800 ex vat, and then you will all complain about it being too expensive but it's not aimed at you, it's aimed at the executive that will pay an extra 5 grand to get an uprated sound sound system in their Bentley, BMW 7 series or Merc S-Class
  • This is the flagship device we all have waited for.
  • is it good i am excited for windows phone again?  maybe the world isn't over yet.
  • After watching this video.... SOOOOOOOO NICE! I love that laptop accessory and it looks really good.  Like something I'd want to take to the office and use or go to a client site and whip out if I still travelled a lot.  Still waiting on the MS Pay story and more on getting some of the lost banking apps and such back but this (initial impression) may have been worth the wait over the 950xl.   I do wish the camera was a 20 MP like the lumia ones and had a physical button but 8MP ffc, and the fingerprint scanner is the winner so I have options for Hello.
  • We should all send this promo video to our banks that don't have apps. This might get them excited.
  • nice looking phone ... will be well beyond my price range but very pleasant design
  • That promo might have more energy in it than all of Microsoft's marketing of the last decade...combined. The device fully deserves a video of this excitement level, even if aimed at enterprise/business markets, simply because that customer base can also get excited too. Plus, the rest of us should benefit from some positive attention to the OS.
  • I concur!
  • A good phone from HP. Unfortunately the support for it will be minimal. If you really want windows mobile, buy a Lumia. The support from MS for other manufacturers lacks perseverence.
  • I carry a1520 and this phone is better designed. Only thing the 1520 might eclipse it in is the rear camera.
  • That is damn impressive.
  • FINALLY!!! HP is back since the iPaq days. They were quality PDAs
  • Looks brilliant!
  • Sleek.....for sure
    Impressive.....for sure
W10 looking awesome.....for sure That is a great ad that hits the point of W10 and the phone is sleek and impressive....cant help taking notice. Nice HP!
  • I like the photo galley of this phone. Did anyone notice that the home screen of the phone looked nice and not the default that doesn't show the potential customizations that enhance appearance.
  • Now MS will start eating the dried breadcrumbs from the table.
  • I am really happy to see this phone announced and that HP seem to be taking Windows 10 Mobile very seriously. The phone looks great, has fantastic specs and the accessories are an awesome bonus. The one thing that will stop me buying this phone however is the fact that it doesn't have a camera button, after going from the 920 - 930 to the 640, I just cannot see myself ever buying another phone without a dedicated camera button on the side. Though the 640's camera is nothing to brag about I have yet to take a half decent picture with it because by the time I open the camera the moment is over. If Microsoft adds some kind of camera opening hotkey similar to how you take a screenshot then I think I would choose this phone over the 950XL.
  • Send that camera thought to the feedback portal...... As a matter of fact, you should have sent that in a year ago, we might have it already!
  • Sent it in as soon as I played with the 640 for a few hours and yet we still don't have it 4 months later, lazy! Lol
  • Price?
  • Interesting, if the surface phone is real and come around the same time...it will be a dual.
  • This has potencial, but it will be even better if by summer we get Islandwood and that win32 bridge (more developers on them I mean) and a stable version of redstone. Oh and they need to come to India.
  • I'm so sad that they won't sell this to consumers
  • Other sites say there is a possibility you could get it from HP or Microsoft stores. Hopefully they are right.
  • This is just nothing short of Amazing! Good on you HP for keeping it a secret! Great device and great thought of the team with the keyboard and screen without the processor! Its going to be very attractive to company clients. I am surely going to check one out if it releases in Sweden!
  • Microsoft needs to hire HP's marketing department. HP is in need of cash, Microsoft should at least rent their marketing team!
  • Lovely looking phone.
  • Okay. That was quite a video. Nice work HP.
  • Just when I was on the ( I **** you not ) edge of falling off and going byway od the iphone, low and behold here comes a phone to rejuvenise my love for Windows Mobile.
  • I had the same feels. Just when the times are down, something extraordinary happens. I applaud HP. Let's see what the developers behold for us.
  • Must... Have... Promo music! And the phone too i guess...lol
  • Oh my God, I officially want this more than I wanted any Lumia.. GIIIIEF!!
  • Amazing! My next pc will be hp. I deserve a love from wp fan ! Phenomenon device ! Almost flawless dream device !!
  • MUST. RESIST. TEMPTATION!
  • Resistance is futile.
  • This phone looks great will it come to netherlands to ???
  • Testing the new wc app
  • Has some crashes here on my 535 when I'm scrolling trough comments too fast, and there's a little black bar on the top. I think they should put the clock, WiFi sign etc there. But other than that, it's fluid, and I like it :D
  • I think they forgot the Windows.UI.ViewManagement.StatusBar snippet
  • this got me hope again. the device is top notch. shame on ms for this. also, the hope is coming from the thought that maybe if other big pc makers like lenovo and dell come with such offerings, w10m might actually stand a chance, and possibly will rule the enterprise market very soon.
  • Don't tou think Microsoft worked with HP on this?? I think they did collaborative work with go like the x360 laptop. I might lay off of Satya if other OEM's make devices like this along with advising like HP's first offering.
  • This may be my next phone.. I love the look of it.
  • Wow, that could actually replace my 1520!
  • Mine too and it will if Microsoft's potential surface phone doesn't wow or come to fruition.
  • Meh.
  • You probably thought the Mona Lisa was Meh.
  • This phone is absolutely amazing!!!! I like it more than the 950(XL) :D
  • Dedicated camera button?
  • If Microsoft doesn't want make flagships, let the others OEMS do it like HP. Great job in this device! Looks Amazing!
  • I wonder if the accessories will work with other Continuum phones
  • Looks awesome
  • Think I'm going to sell my 950 and get this phone when it drops on the summer
  • Let the battle begins Lumias vs X3s.. Round one fight... X3s Toastees!!! 2017 X4s flawless victory!!!
  • I blame the Government.
  • Looks pretty awesome, give the new Samsung phones a run for their money. Other sites are ripping into it and Windows Mobile. I honestly don't get what's not to like about Windows 10 Mobile and this X3. If they think it doesn't run EXE's? It's insta trash. No Snapchat? garbage. No bank apps? total lame sauce. Seems they just want to hate on something to make themselves feel superior and justify their smartphone decisions. It's in our nature though. /shrug.
  • ...that's one is the coolest ad for W10M device.... ...take that, 950XL (although I have purchased a 950XL) :D
  • THIS is how Windows phones should be advertised. Damn that was awesome. I want one so bad.
  • Now thats what you call an introduction.... Perfect
  • Do anyone know the price of this phonee
  • As it has huge spec price of this phone also will also be huge..my thought
  • Not bad, not bad. Hope its not much more than $749 with the dock. That virtualization thing better work well. W10M doesn't have many chances to make a first impression like that. The mobile extender laptop thingie: I hope it  is significantly (say, half) lifter than the lightest ultrabook or any 2-in-1 hydrid. It has to have some sigificant advantage like that to be worth it (other that of course being hopefully also fairly cheap).  Now, this won't sell automatically - also put a TON of advertising money behind i both HP and (perhaps even more so) _MS_. HP and other OEMs need to be bought into the game.
  • Is the price specified???
  • Still no x86 Continuum Jesus phone.
  • This device is a beast guys.....now there is no excuse left for those hardware whinners
  • Insane :)
  • No no no. Never again HP. Not after webOS. Your company will never get another dime from me and as many people as I can convince to not support you.
    08/18/2011: Never forget, never forgive.
  • Nobody bought Palms. Don't blame HP. Microsoft might do the same to Windows Phone if nobody buys them. It's business Posted via the Windows Central App for NES
  • I want...
  • I don't know if this is fact but does MS have a design limitation they place on anyone building using Windows 10? If a company wanted to build a Windows 10 device, using ICONS rather than tiles, could they do it? If they wanted to make the icons on the start screen rotate, could they do that?
  • Hope to see an ad like this on TV often! Should've been a super bowl commercial.
  • i really dig this device :-)
  • Mindblowing! By the way first video music is awesome:)
  • I can't wait!!!!!
  • Looks awesome!
Only thing that worries me is if the Surface phone or future Windows mobile devices use Intel processors. If that happened, it would likely mean development of continuum support on ARM devices would be dropped. Similar situation happened to Windows 8 ARM devices or even WP7 vs WP8.
I feel that the switch away from ARM will happen in the future due to the appeal of legacy app support with continuum on a mobile device.
Props to HP on releasing a device that wows more than MS's current offerings.
  • MS's Lumia 650 is kinda in a weird spot too. It's advertised as a business device, but doesn't have the ability to use continuum. Wouldn't MS want continuum support on such a market segment? It would also increase apps in the market with continuum support.
  • False advertising it would rather give bad signal they should claiming it as biz phone
  • They just want to confuse buyers or company to what is professional rated mean while alienate future buyers in the process.
  • Right. Like another article about the HP phone, it basically destroys the 950s. Like I am considering purchasing this device. The kneejerk reaction is should Microsoft be in the phone manufacturer business? HP seemed to put alot of innovation in the device. Ideally we'll see more phone manufacturers in the W10 market.
  • Wel bt wt is the diff between this and 950xl
  • Better processor more RAM better front shooter iris plus FP, better designed, can run PC app (through HP remote server) bigger battery premium feel...but missing glance , pureview cam
  • Wow, good on HP Inc. to just completely blow away all past perceptions with a winning device! =P
  • It looks great, killer specs now I'm just crossing my finger that the price is competitive.
Bonus for me: Real home button, home screen button sucks.
  • Sexy beast Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Excellent device with all high end, what about with excellent camera?
  • TAKE MY MONEY!! (up to $400 unlocked actually) BUT REALLY TAKE MY MONEY Posted via the Windows Central App for NES
  • It's beautiful..
  • the thing is ..this phone is only going to be sold directly to companies by HP and by the time they release it and thats august 2016 its going to be outdated.....and its not certain HP will actually release it ,if they dont get the support from their partners propably they will cancel it before it even reach the retail shelves {if even going to )...
  • Me want one!
  • Seeing as Lumias are now a microsoft product, and they are trying to encourage other phone makers to produce windows mobiles, can anyone tell me why they cant make the Glance screen available for use by other phone makers? it is the main reason I am not keen on buying a non Lumia. It seems strange to me, anyone else?
  • False horizon coming closer. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Love this one, but I will win a Lumia 950XL from WC
  • And now that's what I call a windows phone..
  • It's so cool
  • Yes i love this device but will it be exclusive.. If so i cant cone back to wp. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Wow I hope that advert makes it on to the TV
  • Front facing speakers!
  • Wow!!!!! Seems Powerful than L950s
  • Well i just got one thing to say. Good job Hp, watch and learn microsoft :3 .
  • Why can't HP make this smartphone available for the general public?
  • Because its a window phone we are not allowed great things and mostly it will be exclusive Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Or not made us have to buy it out right to get it. They have such potential and I just don't agree with almost anything they have('nt) done with mobile.
  • Also to see the newer iPhone and Galaxy commercials and know at least 60% of what they are calling their innovations started on a Windows Phone, moving pictures anyone?
  • This just made the top of my list. What an awesome phone, great specs too. I wonder if MS will have the Surface phone ready to launch around the same time as this.
  • Seems like HP can dish make a better windows phone than Microsoft imo. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Just awesome. Please Cater to all markets
  • I want this phone. This is the kind of phone the Lumia 950 series should be.
  • This phone looks promising, specs are great. And Windows 10 mobile is looking better and smoother with every build. I like continuum. Use it on my tv with my lumia 950xl wirelessly. No phone can do that right now.
  • Have you owned a L950? I think it's the best Lumia i have used yet. Granted I have only been using Lumia devices for just over 3 years. Give win10 a chance it will keep improving.
  • It's great!!!.
  • OMG perfect review ! .  "CONTINUUM" makes X3 perfect with added elite x3 accessories. All 3 perfect combo.  I can't belive how techcrunch made a bad article on this product. shame.
  • Beast mode! Posted from Windows Central for Windows 10
  • Awesomeness!! I definitely will be buying directly from HP or Microsoft. Posted via.........deez nutz!!!!!!
  • Looks like 950 got blown out. Just add an octacore set and they'll effectively trounce the Samsung S7 Edge in every category. Color me impressed, HP.
  • It's about time they give the Lumia 950 a solid rival. Hopefully this will encourage other vendors to make high-end Windows phones and drive a healthy competition.
  • One of the few things holding me back from the 950XL was that rather poor speaker. Bang & Olufson branded speaker? Count me in!
  • Screw the 950XL, this is my NEXT phone if Verizon gets it.... It seems like EVERYTHING I have ever wanted in a phone... with RDP access, I could use it to access fill x86/x64 apps...(If I get it, I'll setup a W10 VM just for that use)
  • Anyone know how much it is plus were can u buy it
