A person on Reddit claims that trying to install Windows Insider builds on the Surface Laptop 3 will cause the "green screen of death." This isn't surprising since the Windows Insider program page explicitly states that installing insider builds could cause crashes and other issues.
The Reddit user, volvoshine, states that the "green screen of death" appeared when trying to update on both the Fast and Skip Ahead rings. The Surface Laptop 3 that presented the issue is a 15-inch model. There's a chance that the issues could be related to the fact that the laptop is running an AMD chip, but that's not clear at this point.
Running Insider builds always comes with inherent risks, but attempting to run Insider builds on the Surface Laptop 3 is particularly risky because there aren't any recovery images for the Surface Laptop 3 yet. As a result, messing up your system could leave you in a very tough spot.
