Saturday Game School is our weekly Windows Central livestream in which we play an Xbox One game and give out free games and prizes to our live viewers. It's like a live podcast, only you also get to watch a game while chatting with our awesome readers and viewers!
Tonight on Mixer, we played and gave out free copies of Kholat, the surreal horror adventure set in the mountains of Russia. Read on for quick impressions and contest winners.
Kholat is a horror-themed exploration adventure game from Polish developer IMGN.PRO, which has worked on Superhot, Construction Simulator, European Truck Simulator, Spintires, and more.
Inspired by a true event known as the Dyatlov Pass incident, Kholat tells the story of nine Russian hikers who died mysteriously in the Ural Mountains. Players must explore these frigid climbs, searching for clues as to what really happened to those victims. Along the way, they'll encounter bizarre sights, horrors, and certain death.
Some of Kholat's best features include its stark mountain setting, exploration, and sense of mystery. On the down side, it suffers from sparsely placed checkpoints and lots of backtracking. Still, you won't find many games with this combination of beauty and frights. Do you have what it takes to survive this terrifying adventure?
Kholat regularly sells for $19.99 on Xbox One, Windows 10, PlayStation 4, and Steam. All four versions are on sale through Halloween, so be sure to grab the game while the price is right!
We streamed Kholat for ~80 minutes. During that time, we gave out the following prize codes:
- 14 Kholat full game for Xbox One
These viewers are in for a spooky time in the mountains!
Tonight's prizes provided by IMGN.PRO. Thanks also to our stream moderators for keeping the peace and giving away the prizes!
