We've been lucky in that the casualties haven't been as bad as Ash Wednesday (75 casualties), or the horrific Black Saturday bushfires (173). However the amount of land that has been destroyed is unprecedented. It's around 13 million hectares which is about the same size as England. Billions of dollars worth of damage has occurred. That being said I honestly think the level of support for this disaster is the highest of any natural disaster that's ever occurred. Which just gotta to show that when it matters the World will band together.
