Microsoft Edge for iOS now lets you toggle between desktop and mobile versions of sites

Updated November 13, 2018: The desktop-mobile toggle is now rolling out to everyone with the latest update to Microsoft Edge for iPhone and iPad. The original story pertaining to the beta follows.

A small but handy update is headed out to Microsoft Edge beta testers today, ticking the app up to version 42.7.3. The lone change coming along with today's release is that you'll now be able to toggle between the mobile version or desktop version of a site with the flip of a switch.

Aside from the new toggle, the update also brings the usual round of performance improvements to the table. Here's the official look at what's new:

  • Mobile or desktop - Now you can specify whether you prefer to view the mobile version or desktop version of sites. The option is available in the Microsoft Edge settings.
  • Performance improvements.

If you're a part of the limited TestFlight beta testing program for Microsoft Edge on iOS, you should be able to grab this update now. Should testing go smoothly, the desktop-to-mobile switch should make its way to everyone on the release version of Microsoft Edge soon.
