  • This is the replacement of my old battered but still running Nokia Lumia 620. With this price it's a hit where I come from.
  • No Glance though.
  • It does have Glance (according to the official Microsoft product page).
  • Good eye!
  • Looks better than the 950....
  • Same design as Lumia 638 (635). Only Better thing is Display resolution and flash. 638 has S 400 processor. I hope they ll bring WM10 to my 638 so I don't need to buy 550
  • as long as you have at least 8GB internal storage and are currently running Windows Phone 8.1, you will get the upgrade
  • Quite a spartan phone. Great for the basic user
  • Looks better than 950... No glued on washer...
  • Yea no.. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • But 540 is better i think ...
  • 640 is better. And is available at almost same price as 540 in at least India.
  • May its an upgrade for 520 users but a bit downgrade when compared with other models
  • 2MP and 480p for the front facing camera? Really? Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Not like you'd get this phone (or any phone) just to record nature walks from an ffc.
  • only use this phone for UFO sightings
  • Pretty good battery for low-end
  • Yup, same thoughts
  • Excellent value for your dollar.  For what most people do on their phones, the 550 would be excellent.
  • So the advantages over the 640 are (1) Higher PPI, (2) Better front facing camera, (3) Bluetooth 4.1 vs 4.0
  • But in case of camera, 540 does very well...
  • OLED screen and 314 ppi - pretty good display, although I still prefer the Lumia 640 over the 550
  • Lumia 640 has IPS LCD screen and so in broad daylight the screen won't be as good as the OLED on Lumia 550
  • There is no OLED display on Lumia 550. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • GPS bands: 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz lol
  • yeah it should have been GSM
  • I think this will be my new phone to replace my 535
  • hmmm... so even cheaper as a prepaid phone here in the US?
  • 640 I think is better. I'm still going to get that
  • The 640 is miles better. It has a better processor, better main camera and camera software, it records in 1080P and has NFC.
  • 640 can be compared to 830, not on this one.
  • 830 is much better than 640.
  • only if there's 640XL spec but with 4.5~5 inch screen...
  • That would be great. I would love to see a mid-range (6-7 series) device with a 8MP snapper or better. And a S410.
  • I might buy this one as a replacement to my 630
  • I do not care that it just has 5MP. It can record 720p video and that's good enough for me.
  • I like my 640 still
  • Hmm.. A bit disappointing that it doesn't fully support T-Mobile USA bands.
  • It being 4.7 makes me want to try even though it has just one T-mobile band. Hoping for colorful back covers
  • Quite heavy considering its spec?
  • It has a density of roughly 1.56 g/cm^3. It really isn't that heavy.
  • Yea my Lumia 640 LTE is still better Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Why doesn't it use Snapdragon 4xx series instead they use 2xx..
  • Because it's the 500 series rather than the 600 series, would be my guess
  • Looks nice, especially the white. I would really dig it in yellow.
  • Bring it on down to SA microsoft. I want it. Now!!!
  • I can imagine a holiday sale that might convince me to replace my 520.
  • I "sold" mine, this would be a great replacement!
  • I'll keep my 640 over this Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • Why is it so thick!?!?!?!? The 640 is nearly a whole mm thinner. The Lumia 560 better be miles better than this.
  • Then just buy the 640. These are budget phones, you're getting the best compromised package for your money with these. If you want thinner devices, look in a different market segment.
  • The 480p recording is probably a limitation due to the Snapdragon 210 chipset (what were you expecting, this is a entry level smartphone)
  • Why would anyone buy this over 640
  • 640 is better and cheaper
  • your flagship should not look anything like your cheapest phone. end of story.
  • Tell that to Apple and Samsung then. The Galaxy and iDevices all have similar design languages and similar looks. It's called a portfolio. Microsoft wanted these phones to be recognizably LUMIA phones.
  • no 1700 bands for t-mobile ... the SD 210 will probally run Windows fine ... HTC is using this cpu in their 626 budget line and it would run android fine if not for the heavy htc skin and bloatware.
  • Only in black and white?
  • So no Band 4 for LTE? I find that odd.
  • Seems a successor to Lumia 630/635/636/638, except the processor.
  • What about the L640? It has better specs and a bigger screen at a cheaper price. It doesn't make sense to me.
  • It's been said that this phone is possibly meant to clean up the low end, and put it all together in a decent package.
  • This phone specs is very bad. It needs 5 inch screen and the hardware inside is really with 210 quad-core 1.1ghz processor speed. The front camera is also bad with 2mp. Pls upgrade the specs for better sales. If the phone specs are not updated by the release I would buy Lumia 540 which is better. Thanks.
  • Please define bad. Not everyone wants a 5 in phone. The front camera has more mp over the 640. I think it is nice for what is being offered. Also Glance is nice and I didn't expect that here at all.
  • Glance should be there, as my 532 has it already.
  • @Rapper Raze, what planet are you living in? :P. Since when has a company revised specs for a device after a grandiose launch?
  • I personally like phones smaller than 5 inches, like my 635. Except for the processor, the 550 is better in every way.
  • I expected something running with snapdragon 600 series processors and mid range but this is shitty. I am still waiting for a decent mid range phone. Enough low end phones.
  • Finally a 4.7" phone
  • I think its a big improvement from the 540 model which isn't as good in performance. Definitely a phone which students can buy
  • That shinny windows logo at the back is a miss
  • Hope my 730 is quite well with the specs
  • Does it have QiWireless?
  • The dimensions do not look correct for this phone (9.9 x 136.1 x 136.1 mm listed above). Looks like the width needs to be updated.
  • Do this phone supports fast charging??
  • I was intent on buying this until I noticed LTE bands 2 and 4 missing.
  • How 'snappy' performance wise will this phone be in relation to a Galaxy S5? I will buy this if it is not as significantly slower performer than the S5. Posted via the Windows Central App for Android
  • 136.1 x 136.1 mm ? is it a square phone ?
