No Google Voice today; we shake fists at sky

See, this is why we have to use a lot of hedge words like "allegedly," "reportedly," "purportedly," and "no friggin' way." 'Cause half the time someone says they've heard something's going to happen on a certain day, well ... let's just turn to the addage: Those who know don't speak, and those who speak don't know.

And so, there's no Google Voice today for us mere mortals. The above tweet comes from Craig Walker, who's running the show over there.  It's coming. Just not today. Move along, folks.

  • hopefully they add the bring your own number feature before it goes public, it is a great service but i hate having a different number
  • Soon Google will know everything about you, definitely not a service i would use.
  • No offense, but I really dont think they care that much about you to "look" into you info. Of course, they can use it for their marketing purpose, but come on...who really cares if your GF is coming over to your place @ 7 PM?
  • Thats usually the argument given but im sure if it was any other company or even a government institution who had access to such a large repository of personal information people wouldnt be so flippant about it. Just not prudent IMO to give google even more personal information to add to the huge stockpile they already have. But I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who feels this way so for the rest of the world, enjoy.
  • Fortunately, there are 6 billion other people on the world way more interesting than I am, so the fact that Google knows what brand of toilet paper I prefer does not really bother me at all.
  • I have been waiting a long time for GV. Missed out on the Grand Central beta and been waiting ever since.
  • I just had a poop - but then Google and everyone else knows that, I presume!?
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along
  • Im so over waiting for this app, its been in development for friggen ever and im sick of waiting for it and hearing about it. Google pull your finger out and deliver. Perhaps next century we might get a glimpse at it ;-)
