Nokia helps developer get Note+ app to the Windows Phone Marketplace

Note+ is an interesting, yet simple, app on the Windows Phone Marketplace. What makes Note+ interesting isn't because it has a bazillion features but rather how this note taking app found its way to the Marketplace.  How Note+ landed on the Marketplace is also a nice example on how Nokia continues to support the Windows Phone platform and it's community of developers.

The developer, Aälejandro Díazs, resides in the Dominican Republic where the Windows Phone Marketplace support is not available for developers. Díazs, a graphics designer by trade, was impressed with the Metro design of Windows Phone and decided to learn how to code for the platform.  It didn't take long for Díazs to develop his first app, Note+, but without a Marketplace presence he had difficulties finding a way to have his work seen.

Díazs then came across an opportunity through Nokia Developer Ambassador Rich Dunbar to get his app published.  Dunbar reviewed submissions from developers who have yet to be published on the Marketplace for a chance at a App Hub token.  Those selected would be able to register with the App Hub and submit apps to the Marketplace for certification.

Note+ was one of the developers chosen and Díazs found himself with a foot in the Marketplace door.  Note+ would eventually pass certification and be published to the Windows Phone on June 29th. ..

The Dominican Republic is scheduled to get full support with Windows Phone 8 and Díazs hopes to continue on new apps for the platform and improve upon Note+.  Note+'s journey to the Marketplace is a nice example of the global interest in Windows Phone and development for the platform.  You also have to give kudos to Nokia for creating opportunities through their Ambassadors that provides developers a chance to get their apps seen.

Now a little about the app.  Note+, simply put, is a note taking app. Tap the edit button at the bottom of the screen and type away your note. It can be a To-do list, grocery list, a phone number you need to remember, homework assignments, or anything else you need to jot down. When the app is pinned to your Start Screen, the note is displayed on the live tile for easy reference.

Note+ has a healthy settings menu to let you customize things such as theme color, counter styles (word or character), a few keyboard options. One nice feature is the ability to copy your note to the Windows Phone clipboard in a single tap.  Note+ is a basic app for your Windows Phone that does a simple task, note taking, and does it well.

Note+ is a free app for your Windows Phone and you can find it here at the Windows Phone Marketplace.
