Official 7digital app released for Windows Phone

The 7digital team have released an official app for Windows Phone which joins the iPhone, Blackberry and Android. The 7digital app allows users to log into their account and synchronise purchased media to their device. The massive online store is integrated so purchases can be made while on the go enabling the discovery, purchasing and enjoyment of music when not at the PC.

With reportedly over 18 million songs for users to choose from, 7digital is a solid alternative to iTunes, Zune or other music store. Available worldwide and localised for Europe (including UK, Germany, France, Spain Italy, Ireland) and North America, users are able to enjoy offline playback from their purchase library.

As one can see from the screenshots, it's an extremely good looking client. The team have also taken advantage of live tiles in Windows Phone allowing artists, tracks and albums to be pinned to the home screen for convenient access.

You can download 7digital from the Marketplace for free. Thanks Bill for the tip!

  • You know I've it on my Atrix, but never used it before ... ever
  • Downloaded a song to my phone from my collection on 7Digital to test, but it did not show up in Zune with the rest of my music.. Have to play it through the 7Digital app.
    That is dissapointing.
Maybe I do something wrong. Anybody else try it?
    The app look very good.
  • @TheMoose14 Hi, we are the Metro developers working with 7digital on the app ( It is not possible to write music into the phone's music library for syncing with Zune, this is a restriction imposed by Microsoft. However! If you go to you can login and get access to all your music and also you can get a download manager which works on any PC or Mac. This will allow you to get all your music from your 7digital locker down onto your computer or any other device (ios, android etc.) so you can listen to your music regardless of platform. We are looking at ways to integrate the user's existing zune library into the 7digital player in a future release as this is possible. If you have any issues using the app, please use the help and support link on the landing home page.
