Organizational app Node for Windows Phone now free for a limited time

Taking notes and organizing data with Windows Phone has never been an issue. We’ve got Office, OneNote, and a variety of big name third party apps, like Evernote, to help keep you focused and on top of your work. Here’s another gem from the Windows Phone Store that you might like. It’s called Node and is currently free for a limited time.

What makes Node shine? Good design and the ability to deep link and cross link to various parts within the app. Let’s look at the features of Node:

  • Organize your data on pages that can link to each other
  • Use swipe left and swipe right gestures to insert or remove nodes quickly
  • Add already existing nodes onto more than one page
  • Create text nodes to capture your ideas
  • Capture photos and view them in galleries
  • Create projects and task lists
  • Record audio notes
  • Pin your pages to the start screen for easy access

So how is Node different than OneNote or Evernote? Fundamentally it isn’t, they’re all more similar than dissimilar. But what makes Node special (besides a nice design) is its ability to create a ‘web’ with all your notes, images, to do tasks, etc. For example, I could create a section for all the app reviews I’m working on for Windows Phone Central. Within a specific app review, I can link back to other relevant nodes to help organize my thoughts. If that sounds confusing, just download the app and play around. You’ll see what I mean when you ‘add existing’.

What could really make Node great is a companion app, either for Windows 8 or a web based solution. Other than that, Node is a compelling organization app to help keep you focused.

Node is currently free for Windows Phone 8 AND 7.x. You can grab it here in the Windows Phone Store, use the QR code below, or swipe to the right in our Windows Phone Central app.

  • Another great use for this app is to create what are effectively albums of your own pictures. Name the pictures and pin the "albums" to your start screen
Eg I have an album of my rotas and shifts for work. I have another for pictures of my kids parties. Although these albums don't seem sync-able (although I haven't tried) its still pretty handy for what I use it for =D

  • Glad I got this app for free.  It has tons of potential, however, there's currently 1 thing that makes it unusable for me at least.  For "Tasks", when I type in what my task is, if it's more than around 3 words the sentence will start flowing off the screen and there's no way to view the rest of the sentence.  Also, I would like to be able to have bullet points to make a list when using the "text" node.

Also, updating the app for WP8 with support for HD resolution and double wide tile would be nice.
  • Could be better.
  • Hi all. I'm Erik from Inhuman Entertainment, the developer of this app. I just found out about this article tonight. I just set the price back to free for a few more days so everyone here can get a chance to download it.  Thanks for the support :)
  • Will it have any kind of synch, or am i missing something?
  • I love turtles
  • Now FREE on Nokia 710 7.5
  • I got it free in Canada.
  • Yup. Free now.
  • In The Netherlands still free (14th March 2013 - 18:10) hehehee (using Nokia Lumia 920)
  • Still free here in the UK, but I don't see what the fuss is about.
I didn't like the interface and seems overly complicated for a simple to do list.
Maybe it's just me but One Note seems a lot easier to get hang of IMHO.
