Every weekend, Windows Central streams an Xbox One game or two on Twitch for 1-2 hours and gives out free games to the cool people who join us during the stream. It's like a live podcast, only you also get to watch a game while chatting with our awesome readers and viewers!
Tonight we played Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate from Koei Tecmo. Warriors Orochi 3 is an action-RPG that throws hundreds of characters on screen at once, and it also happens to be a full retail game. We gave out some download codes for the game, played a bunch of co-op, and had a great time. Read on for impressions, contest winners, and the full video replay!

Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate
Earlier this week, we announced an exciting series of streams focused on Xbox One and Steam games from Koei Tecmo. We'll be streaming every one of the Japanese publisher's titles – one a month – and giving out free copies for consoles and Steam. The first of those titles will be Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate, one of my favorite Koei Tecmo games.
Koei Tecmo's Warriors Orochi series is a crossover between the ancient Chinese setting of Dynasty Warriors and the feudal Japanese setting of Samurai Warriors. That series made its debut on Xbox One with Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate, one of our picks for Best Xbox games of 2014.
The premise of the game involves a mysterious multi-headed dragon called the Orochi attacking and destroying nearly all of the world's heroes and warriors. With the help of a friendly goddess, the few remaining warriors must travel back into their own pasts to save their fallen comrades and build an army strong enough to take on the Orochi and its demonic leader. The time-traveling aspects make for a unique and compelling story.
Warriors Orochi 3's actual fighting is quite simple, but the game's deep RPG elements and addictive character collection will provide beat 'em-up and role-playing fans with hundreds of hours of gameplay. Plus it has 2-player local and online co-op! Give this niche game a try and it might make a fan of you.
Read our full review for more details, and be sure to watch us playing the game in co-op on the stream!
We streamed Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate for ~90 minutes tonight, starting at 8pm Central (9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific, 2am GMT). During that time, we gave out a total of 15 game codes:
- 10 Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate for Xbox One
- 5 Toukiden: Kiwami for PlayStation 4 (North American accounts only)
Always feel free to stick around in chat before and after the stream if you have any questions or just want to say hi. If you enjoy the stream, be sure to check our schedule and come back for more!
How to watch Twitch livestreams
What's the best way to experience Twitch? The Twitch website on your PC or Mac web browser. If you don't have or prefer not to use a computer, you can get the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Xbox 360 Twitch apps and watch from the comfort of your couch. Android and iOS both have official and unofficial Twitch apps to choose from as well.
On Windows Phone, you'll have to grab an unofficial app. There are several to choose from, each with different strengths and weaknesses. Only one app lets you search directly for our channel, though. If you use the others, you'll have to find and follow us from a web browser first. Read the roundup to learn more!
Want to know what's next for Windows Central's Twitch programming? We stream a different game every Saturday. The stream always starts at the same time: 8pm Central (9pm Eastern, 6pm Pacific, 2am GMT). Next week's stream is:
- Saturday, January 2: Neverwinter. Play along and win Xbox One item codes for this free to play MMORPG from Perfect World Entertainment.
We hope you'll tune in as often as you can! Set a recurring alarm on your phone so you'll always know when it's time for the stream to start.

PS5 games prices are higher than Xbox — but is that a good thing?
Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal came with some big caveats, and one of the most overlooked ones is the fact that games will be more expensive, seemingly across the board. Should Microsoft and Xbox jump on that train as well?
Review: Gigabyte's Z490 AORUS ULTRA is a gorgeous Intel motherboard
Gigabyte's Z490 AORUS ULTRA is a motherboard you should consider for a 10th or 11th Gen Intel-powered PC. On paper, it has plenty going for it, including amazing power design and cooling, passively cooled M.2 slots and good overclocking support.
