Microsoft has launched the preview of Cortana Intelligence with Bing Predicts. The new service uses the same engine that predicted the outcome of events like the World Cup, NFL games and election results to help businesses come up with solutions to problems.

Microsoft says Cortana Intelligence with Bing Predicts collects and analyses data from Bing search results, Internet Explorer sessions and posts on the web and social media services:

Our team interprets these datasets to help you gain unique insights such as localized consumer preferences, user sentiment, customer demographics, macroeconomic indicators predictions and industry trends. The heavy lifting of building, testing and operationalizing these enhanced solutions is handled entirely by Microsoft's team of data scientists and solution architects, working with the industry-leading machine learning capabilities of the Cortana Intelligence Suite. This approach can be applied across a wide range of business problems such as improving marketing effectiveness, enhancing sales, building innovative products, reducing risk, and optimizing operations.

This preview program is only available for U.S customers.; there's no word on when it will be generally available worldwide.
