Hail a more affordable cab in London with Kabbee for Windows Phone

London is an expensive place, being the capital of England. Catching taxis (or cabs) can also prove daunting for those who know just how high prices are for a quick journey. Luckily, there are some services out there that are looking to change how this all works and Kabbee is one of them. The service compares pricing against available fleets and black cab drivers to get you the best deal, and now an official Windows Phone app has been released.

Available 24/7 and boasting the largest available fleet in London, Kabbee's Windows Phone app not only allows users to not only select pick up, drop off and via points to their booking, but also track the cab after the booking has been confirmed. Prices are reported to be up to 70 percent lower for black cabs and it's cheaper than going direct due to competing companies.

Some highlights of the service include:

  • Select quotes from 70 minicab companies based on cheapest, closest, user rating or reliability
  • Pay with cash, card or pre-paid account
  • Choose standard, estate or MPV cars, child seats and even Green or Premium

It's a neat service that aims to change how cabs are booked and making it both cheaper and easier for consumers in the process. With the app installed, it's now possible to select a ride by price, arrival time, punctuality or user rating. Strongly recommended for those who reside in London or find themselves travelling through.

Yay! We need more official and quality apps, we don't need 10,0000 apps like android. What's the point of having 1000 of same apps that performs the same task, it just makes store shitty.

London is not the capital of the UK. Feel free to check if you wish, I think you'll find there's no official statute for it.

Nor is English the official language, but nobody would dispute it's the language spoken. They're both de facto as opposed to de jure.

Well since England is not a sovereign state yet the UK is, and as a capital city is one where the seat of government sits, its more the capital of the UK than it is of England.

Black cabs planning demonstration in London tomorrow over these types of apps arguing they are deregulation of the industry i.e. Moving on their territory.

Going to give it a spin, regardless the cheapest will probably still cost you a (your) leg to get from A to B :P.
