Taxify for Windows Phone launches in a beta version

Taxify, a taxi booking service based in Europe, has announced it has launched a public beta version of its Windows Phone app after previously offering apps for the Android and iOS platforms.

The Windows Phone version started development in part due to demand for the app in some markets. Taxify's CEO Markus Villig is quoted as saying:

"Due to strong demand from our customers from both Finland and the Baltics, we have invested our development efforts into Windows Phone solution. With this milestone, we are delighted to say that Taxify taxi booking service is now available for the majority of all smartphone users. Developments will of course continue and more interesting news are still to come within forthcoming months."

Here's a quick rundown of Taxify's features:

  • Request a taxi with 1 click and skip the waiting list.
  • Choose your driver by price or quality ratings.
  • Automatic location detection saves your time.
  • Avoid "pirate taxis" thanks to Taxify's quality standards.

Keep in mind that this is a beta version of the app and as such it might have some bugs and issues. However, the fact that the Windows Phone app is in existence, due to demand for such an app, is encouraging.
