AlphaJax gets a major update, free version now available

One of our favorite games on Windows Phone just got a major update/overhaul: AlphaJax (see review)

First up, for those who don't want to throw down their hard earned money, there's now a free, ad-supported unlimited trial version available. Having all the same features as the paid except for some ads, this free edition should allow a lot more people an opportunity to play the game. Of course a paid, no-ad version will stick around for those of us who don't like them there ads, so no worries on that end.

The second big update are user statistics. While it's no Xbox LIVE support this is clearly the next best thing as now you can keep track of your stats, the top games, the top players and even the top moves in the AlphaJax universe. Oh and starting a few days ago, you can now play up to 30 simultaneous games--which is just pure insanity.

The update is in the Marketplace now and you can grab it here (opens in new tab).

  • I wish we could get some cross platform support so I can play with my words with friends iphone buddies again.
  • this would be really awesome feature!
  • Strongly agreed.
  • This would make the game so much more interesting. Every game developer should make more cross platform games.
  • thanks for letting us know...
  • Why isn't the update showing on the Marketplace tile.
  • If you already have Alphajax you have to get the update by loading the Marketplace. Any updates for any of your apps will be counted at the bottom of the main page, press that and you can pick and choose updates or Update All. If Alphajax isn't listed than you're either already up to date or still running a trial.
  • I had the same problem. I had to restart my device. Only then did AlphaJax appear in the Updates list with the marketplace.
  • Keith from Alphajax here. The update should appear on your device pretty soon if it hasn't already. A tip (if you simply can't wait!) is to power reset your phone to force a marketplace cache refresh (worked for me!) where you should see the new version if you search for 'alphajax' in the marketplace hub and be able to install or apply the update.
